with ford making lincoln.. and lincoln being advertised/know for quiet interiors. i got me thinking about if different trim levels have varying amounts of sound deadening. any one know ?

i have a 22 KR on order and i would pay extra for lincoln levels of in cabin sound suppression

i find that ford is pretty good with tailoring different parts between models to save $$

I have a Platinum Tremor and I am quite impressed with how quiet the pickup is. Even coming from a 2017 PSD Lariat I've noticed the new one is quieter yet. I had ordered some of the sound deadening material that the audio guys use in vehicles that I was going to put on the underside of the hood, in the doors and behind the rear seat cab liner. I don't think I'll do that now.

I did use some gaffer's tape and put that around the door latch ring to keep the door from rattling and make it a bit tighter which did help. I'm OCD about the little rattles. I also pulled some 3/8" surgical tube through all the rubber door seals which also pretty much got rid of any wind noise. The $30 bucks was well worth it to me.

i am so appreciative of your response. thank you. did the 3/8" tube just firm up the seals a bit ? i am having a hard time visualizing it, did you fish a 3/8" tube through the round part of the factory around door seals ?

You are most welcome. The 3/8" did exactly what you suggested. Instead of the damn foam/rubber flattening out over time it stays in a better shape a bit more and seals against the metal a bit better.

I used a flexible fiberglass fishing rod that I used to pull CAT6 cable through my walls in the house along with a small amount of K/Y to ease it through... I'm laughing like a damn 7th grader right now...

No complaints with my Lariat Ultimate, definitely quieter than my '15.

On this topic, it seems that higher trim level trucks have more sound suppression for the engine:

I thought my '16 F150 Lariat was quiet but my Platty Tremor is
really quiet. I got it without the moonroof on the assumption that it would be quieter and stiffer. I believe I was right, for once.
