Does anyone who has the factory cab roof clearance light option, can you report if you can see a glow/reflection on the hood when driving at night?

I left this option off my pending '22 order to avoid water issues in the future, but it does look neat.

Thank you! :)

Driving at night for the last 10 weeks and cannot say I've even noticed it once. If it reflects it's certainly not very noticeable.

Edit: added some pics

Driver's seat with camera even with my forehead. The only reflections on the hood are from lights around the truck on the buildings.

Did you specify them on purpose on your order? They look cool, but I hate dealing with water leaks and the fade in the sun (garage not big enough).

What he said. ^^^
I don't notice it.

I've always loved clearance lights so I've always included them in an order. No leaks so far. Actually I've had four Super Duties with them and never had a leak. They mount with one screw and a gasket so I figure if one leaks its and easy repair. You could always buy a spare set in a year or two and replace them when if they start looking faded. Wouldn't take 30 minutes to replace all of them.

It's interesting how you can see the reflection in the first pic, but not from the driver's POV. Funny how light works
That's why I took both pics. If anything the dash lights are more distracting than anything else but I'm good with them.

All in all I'm very pleased with the view from the cab at night. I really love this truck and haven't found anything that annoys me yet. ? ;)

Do you feel that the cab lights make it seem that drivers in smaller vehicles get out of the way of you (more safe)? That's what I saw someone say on another forum.

I'm always in the slow lane so I doubt it would matter.

Not real sure if other driver's try to avoid me. I do know that if a truck with LED headlights comes up from behind me their lights are extremely bright. Based on that some drivers may move over just because of my bright headlights, I know I have in the past. I'm sure some smaller cars feel like they are getting run over by a truck like this if it comes up on them. I'm pretty good at laying back and driving somewhat passively.

I only had my truck 6 months but I never saw any reflection. I ordered them in my new truck

I haven't got my truck but I put them on the order, I believe the aftermarket Recon lights have had known sealing issues but if you seal them properly when installing them they should be good. There might be a few threads in the Exterior forum in regards to the cab lights.

I can still add them to my order (no VIN) but I'm not sure if I will. I tend to have the worst luck for leaks (oil included) on vehicles.

i love the new clear clearance lights they look great on my white truck. With my seating position which I max out the front to back tilt so i sit down in the seat i have never seen any "glow" off the hood.

Now that i mention it and i expect all of you can now hate me. When i drive at night with the cooled seats on i can catch a glimpse of the reflection off the rear glass thru the rear view of the little blue lights. I always think its a cop until i realize it isn't. Enjoy! :devilish:

You would need a certain angle on the hood to see a reflection of the clearance lights. Picture placing a mirror on the hood, and the angle needed to see a reflection of the roof. The required angle doesn't exist on this hood. Good to go! And from experience, I have never seen any type of reflection or light shining anywhere I can see from inside the truck.
