This is my 3rd new Ford in 8 years. This is also the first one that I got the tailgate step and LOVE it, I'm constantly using it!

I think it's lame. Having said that, I do not have my truck yet. I just don't like things that are not symmetrical from an astatic standpoint. From a practical standpoint, I have a bed cover, so it's not that functional for me. I also have the tailgate retractable step. Maybe I will change my thinking, but I really doubt it.

Tailgate step? With the height of the Tremor, I use mine pretty frequently. It's a lot easier then trying to step onto a tire then into the bed.

I am an engineer and hate lack of symmetry , or things that look out of place. So I totally get your point and I will use a bed cover. Anyone have a pic?

Have the bed step on my 2018 F150 but also have the tailgate step. I use the Tailgate step regularly but the bed step, almost never. That being said, the 250 Tremor of course is much higher so it may be useful even though I am 6'4" tall. Anyone know if the F150 step will fit the 250 Tremor?

I use the tailgate step, get bikes in and out. For the side I do the same thing I did with my first Ford F250, step up on top of the rear wheel and climb in, but that F250 wasn't 4wheel or siting up as high and at 56, I try not to do this that much!

I added it. Did not consider what Vermonster said about it being an overkill with the tonneau cover, it might be. If it looks out of place or wont be used, i’ll just remove it, its easy enough. In the same fashion its just as easy to add later on, if im not mistaken its exactly the same AMP step sold aftermarket.

I remember a few years back seeing that contraption on a buddy’s raptor. Man did I think it was dumb. I have had a complete 180 though. I’m 6’2” and get in and out of my truck bed all the time. Bottom line, I’m over 6ft tall 185lbs, in good shape and I would hate to get in and out of that truck bed without it. I thought for a long time I would never use the bar to help pull myself into the bed so I just used the step for almost a year until I needed the leverage. When I used the step with the arm I realized just how useful it is. I’ve had the amp side step and ehhh it’s ok. I had it on my ram and found I just went for the tire to get in just as much as using that step because I could grab the bed to pull me up. With the side step, it’s a little awkward because of the angle and found myself doing a little dance more than a few times. I’ve had my Tremor now for almost 2 years and that dumb tailgate contraption is something I would miss if it wasn’t an option on my next truck. Although not as cool looking as GMs attempt, it just works.

Added it later, imo it is better than the tailgate step simply because it takes less time to set up and gives you a solid footing.
Also better because it works with the tailgate up.

IMO the bed step is a no-brainer, but also easy enough to add after the fact so not a big deal if you miss it.

I didn’t get the corner drop step, but use the tailgate step every time. These things are tall to get in and I’m 6’2”. I can see the benefit of the drop step if you don’t need to drop the tailgate. That said, don’t like the look of it. Do they make them for both sides or just one side? This would help symmetry aesthetics.

Good idea for both sides, I will just wait

I have considered it and might add it after I get my truck but I live where there is snow and my F150 would gather all kinds of snow & ice in that area. I am afraid it will get caked up in the winter & not work then get covered in salt & seize up. Anyone had any issues with this?

"I didn’t get the corner drop step,"

If you're towing it's much easier to use the corner dropdown step.
Very good point, some trailers don’t allow clearance to drop the tailgate when hooked up, so big value there. I don’t buy trailers configured to not allow you drop the tailgate, but I learned that from owning prior trailers that top of jack dinged my tailgate!!

This is where I think GMC nailed it having the built-in step in the bumper. I think it looks good, symmetrical, and it’s just always there. I may or may not get one - gonna wait till I have it for a bit to decide. I do use the tailgate step usually though, bad knees.
