2020 F250 Tremor
Good morning,

Just got my new ARE shell on this week and now that the inside truck bed is darker I can really see a lot of gaps in the tailgate. This is my first F250 but never noticed so much space in my past three F150's.

Has anyone noticed the same thing. I guess I could put on some weather stripping to help seal it up a little but wanted to check around first. The outside of the tailgate seems to fit just right.

Not that I'm filling my bed with ice and beer but don't expect everything in my bed to get wet just by getting a truck wash either!

Thanks,

Keith

Install a tailgate seal. Problem solved

They just aren't designed to be water tight, otherwise thousands of people wouldn't be able to close thier tailgate after mud or sand got between the gaps.

If you want to be there are gaps up front and around the tailgate as mentioned to seal up too.

I agree it’s not supposed be watertight but I’ve never seen that big of a gap
If they were water tight that would be an option from Ford and it would be portable pool. Then all of use rednecks would come up with away to add some type of heater to it and calling it a hot tub.

Run a bead of silicone in the rear corners inside the box so the tires don’t spray water and dirt inside
