Error messages when towing

I have had a problem when towing recently. I was getting an error message when I hit a noticeable bump. I was saying that my right blinker was not working (yes I use the correct blinker fluid) when I hit bumps. It would reset after a while and work. I used an electrical cleaner in the trailer plug and cleaned it out ... it got a little better but still malfunctioned. When the message is displayed the trailer lights did not work appropriately. The plug is several years old and I am hoping to wait until the spring to replace it when I get my trailer serviced. Has anyone else had this problem when towing and if so, what did you do to correct it?

Thanks in advance ... for your help .... my friend and I think the truck side of the plug is not as tight as my previous Ram trucks.

Ford is more temperamental. Use dielectric grease in the connector it will stop.

Update: it turns out it is common for the truck plug to have issues with the plug... apparently water gets into the lines and disrupts the connections ... but the dealer will swap out plugs under warranty. My Dealer is addressing this next week. The sign is all kinds of error messages when you plugin ...which I initially got.
