Filling out paperwork for the first oil sample and I have discovered I have no idea what the model/part number is for the new 6.7L powerstroke that makes 1050lb/ft tq. Also anybody know what oil weight ford puts in at factory?

Tag for more info as well.

Would you share your oil sample data with the forum? Very curios and have seriously considered giving it a try.

I can. Not sure how helpful it would be for anyone else as everyone's truck will be different. I just drained the factory fill at 4k miles and took a sample before. Wanted to get the factory oil out early after break in and get in some T6 and AR9100 in.

I'd say 10w30 is factory fill oil. No reason to add snake oil to a new truck.

Not sure how you can call it snake oil. I've done a lot of reading and watching wear tests on youtube with it. Jay Leno uses it. Top Powerstroke mechanics recommend it. I have already seen results.

I went from the factory 10w30 (assumed but I have read this elsewhere now also) to 15w40 with the 9100. My gas mileage has already gone up about 2-3 mpg.

I used to get 17-18 hwy. I'm getting 20-22 now. Granted I am on my first tank of diesel after the oil change and 9100 additive. But when I filled my truck up my distance to empty was 540 miles. I've driven about 60 miles and my distance to empty is now 560 miles. The computer is seeing a difference. Will that pan out with actual math, time will tell.

My truck is very slightly quieter also at idle.

You put in the 16oz bottle for $45?

Yep. says right on the bottle for all powerstrokes add the entire bottle.
I’ve seen videos where it seems to make a significant difference. $45 makes an oil change pricey though.

Well if you run the math on the fuel savings it pays for itself pretty quick. $45 is half a tank of diesel in my neck of the woods. Over the life of an oil change its gonna do more than pay for itself

Cause you think you are going to gain how much MPG over the life of the oil change???

I've tracked over 176k miles of fuel usage. I even use a stand alone GPS to double track the amount of miles driven.

You need to be OCD with tracking miles driven, fuel added, adding fuel the same way EVERY time, etc etc etc. What I talk about when adding fuel is for example is filling fuel till you can see it at the cap.

Good luck.

A savings of 2 mpg over 5000 miles, with diesel averaging $2.65/gallon. You would save about $73.60. 10000 miles between changes, double the savings. Assuming the additive works, it would be worth it.

Assumptions can be answered way long before 5k miles are reached.

If it improves mpg that much why not fill with 13 quarts?? Looking at the MSDS it is an ester. Tons of additives out there that are the same. I do sampling with Blackstone and follow BITOG forums and whatnot, but I would be cautious putting anything in the oil fill tube that does not state it meets WSS-M2C171-F1 on the bottle for warranty purposes.

I have no idea how much fuel mileage I'm gonna gain. Increase in MPG isn't even listed on the bottle but users pretty much report a unanimous gain. I decided to run it because of everything that I read about it. The wear tests and user reports speak for themselves. If I gain 0 mpg I will continue to use it.

My truck only has 4k miles on it. The MPG gain could be from other things after break in? I have no idea. But it was a very sudden change. Night and day difference. I noticed the difference in idle noise the instant I turned my truck on to check for leaks after the oil change. I am not emotionally attached to it. If it doesn't work I have no problems not using it. We'll see what future oil analysis says.

That fuelly thing is pretty slick. I assume there is an app?

Yes, it's a app I use for trackign fuel usage. It gives WAY too much info....LOL

I just saved the free app and will start using it. It looks pretty cool.
