- 2023 F350 Platinum Tremor 7.3L (built 9/25)
With my truck's anticipated delivery date less than 30 days away, I figured it was time to start my build thread to share all the mods and any (mis)adventures I have with my truck. I'll post pictures once I take delivery.
My wife and I spent some time trying to come-up with a fun name for the truck and we kept joking that this truck is turning out to be a money pit, long before I've even gotten keys. So the name Money Pit has stuck. Although looks like the name isn't original as someone else on the forum also is calling their truck a money pit. We're calling it Money Pit because it is a well equipped Platinum and I’ll be putting a lot of additional money into it to make it exactly what I want. This will be my first new vehicle in 10 years and the last one I kept stock, so it is going to be fun tweaking and tinkering with it. I’m planning on keeping this for a minimum of 10 years (i.e., I'm not allowed to get a new truck any sooner), so hopefully Ford doesn’t come out with a major upgrade or innovation that makes me want to trade up for a newer model.
This will be my daily driver, but also want something that has off-road and tow capabilities which is how I landed on a F-350 Tremor. I won't do the type of off-roading that would warrant a Jeep or smaller truck, and I won't tow heavy enough or often enough to warrant the investment in the diesel engine or a DRW. The Tremor with the 7.3l engine is truly the sweet spot for what I need. I went with the Platinum trim as I figure that will somewhat future proof the truck from a tech standpoint for awhile and give me all of the features I want and a few that are nice to have.
Core build: F-350 Platinum 7.3L Tremor Crew Cab SRW, Antimatter Blue with these additional options:

Core build: F-350 Platinum 7.3L Tremor Crew Cab SRW, Antimatter Blue with these additional options:
- Carpet delete (got two German Shepherds ... IYKYK)
- Engine Block Heater (it's cheap and a pain to add afterwards. Doubt I'll ever use it)
- 5th-Wheel/Gooseneck Hitch Prep Package (future RV lifestyle plans)
- Roof clearance lights (just 'cause I like the look)
- Front/Rear Splash Guards (gotta protect the paint, let's see if they stay when I go to bigger tires)
- Max Recline Seats (cause I'm a big guy and they're more comfortable)
- No moon roof (don't need all that extra Texas sun on my head)
- Multi-contour seat delete (aka no put me to sleep seats)
- Train horn
- Fog lights
- Rear accessory lights
- Ditch lights
- Front light bar
- ARB Compressor
