Drive Mode Not Available

I’m towing right now and all of the sudden can’t put the truck in Tow Mode. Any ideas?

Did you try to do it immediately after start up or something? The electronics are slow and maybe it wasn’t ready?

I posted this after idling about 5 minutes at start of the the trip. No change after warming up most of the way.

I’m at a gas stop now fucking Godzilla…

Didn’t work after restarting.

Trying again after fueling.

Same. I use adaptive cruise quite a bit while towing.

If you unplug the trailer, will tow haul engage? Could be a wiring issue with the trailer? I’m just tossing easy suggestions out to try

They did not.
Its working now.

Seems I had to put it in reverse and then back into drive. Weird.

I have seen that message once in my Tremor. After letting it sit, next time it worked.

Probably was just a positional sensor issue of the column shift.

We have this issue on our 2018 Expedition quite often. After many trips to the dealer, they think it's a rear solenoid issue.
My advice is to let your local dealer know so that you can start a history of it. It's going to cost us $400 to repair.
I know different vehicle, etc., but still get it documented.

Its likely the plug on your emergency brake has come loose. Check that. I had the same thing and when I gently released the parking brake it stopped happening.
