I have been researching DPF back exhausts since I don't like the look of the stock system. I have come to find out that on Banks powers website for their 5 inch exhaust that it doesn't fit tremors due to the larger spare tire. Is this for their system specifically or all 5 inch or even 4 inch exhausts? Does anybody have an exhaust on their truck that could post some pictures?

Just installed the Banks 5" on my exhaust this past weekend. Fits fine. I had to drop the spare tire to get it installed. And the spacer/shield on the exhaust is about 1/4" from the tire. But I checked temps and fitment and no issues with it getting too hot or causing issues with the spare tire. I don't have any pics with me at work, but can post when I get home. Didn't change the sound at all. but I liked the looks so I did it.

Would love to see pics of this been considering it myself. Thx!

Thanks for the info!

Here are the pics of the exhaust. You can see it it tight against the spare tire but it’s the heat shield on the exhaust pipe not the exhaust pipe itself. It was hot after 40 min of driving but I could still touch it so I’m not worried about the tire. And rubber combusts at over 700 degrees I believe... Painted the rest of the pipes black with high temp engine paint to make it disappear.

Like I said, no sound change I just love the looks. Install was easy. Getting old exhaust off rubber hangers was the hardest part. Then drop the spare to give yourself room to work.

You sure that's not touching? Seems close. How much touching is too hot? Or too much touching? Should it touch at all? And what does the tire think about the touching?

It’s close. Might be touching. But it’s not the exhaust pipe itself. Banks welded a heat shield on the exhaust pipe. How much is too hot? I’d say hot enough to combust rubber. It’s not that hot. I looked again and there isn’t any burn or melt marks. Driven hard for a week now.

Just checked again. 1/8” gap to the heat shield. Another 1/2” gap from that to the exhaust pipe. Readjusted the hanger. Now a 3/4-1” gap plus the heat shield gap as well. I’ll see if that holds. If not I’ll bend the metal hanger to move it more. But not a single burn mark or melt mark or anything on the spare tire. So I’m not concerned.

Maybe some kind of heat wrap might help aswell
