Is there a “right” time to start using diesel additives…i.e. should I avoid during the break in period or first ~1000 miles? I’ve gotten my internet PHD/researched the different brands and plan to use Hotshots EDT, but haven’t really seen much on when to start or if it even matters. I’m sure there are a lot of opinions on this one…appreciate the debate!

I started fuel additives first tank ....not because I don't trust Ford....It's the diesel fuel that can't be trusted...and thats what your treating.

Oil I started treating at 2500 miles after the engine was completely broke in with the Factory oil....and that is when I went Full synthetic with Archoil added to CrankCase!

I started XPD right away and Archoil in crankcase at first oil change.

If you have your oil changed at the dealer will they put in 16 oz of Archoil?
Will they hold half a quart back for you to add it?

That's gonna depend on the dealership. I doubt they will take the liability of adding it or sending it out low on oil.

My thoughts exactly. So how do you remove 16 oz of new oil
in order to add your Archoil?

I don't. I change the oil myself. Takes 15 minutes.

I buy gallon jugs of rotella t6 and put the arch oil in the three gallons....then give it to the dealer.....then they top off with the two quarts I have

Are you also asking about fuel additives? There are many of those out there too.
Depending on your location and the climate it will change what you may want to add.
