OK, so my story: I am going to the desert very often in NV and the last time I almost stuck in with my Honda Accord. I thought I would need a truck, if I don't want to be in the desert alone with a car that stuck in.
I was thinking to get something for $30k, that was my original budget. I went down to the dealers and saw a nice GMC truck, with a price tag of $54k. I thought I am not going to buy it but I liked it very much. I waited my husband to come home and went to the dealership to show him the GMC, which was about to leave the lot as a loaner to someone else. (I got angry because for them, I was a potential buyer, huh?)
Drove to the next dealership, a Ford one and they had all the kind of trucks, but I wanted to see a F250. I didn't want a F150 because for the future, a F250 would give more options. (we love RV's and even if currently don't have one, who knows, we may buy another)
They had nothing that matched my idea (color or leather seats) but they had a F250 Tremor on the lot. It had a $77k price tag. It was just not my idea to pay for my new truck. The salesman asked if I want to drive it? I was hesitating, because I will not buy it, so why to waste time for it. But it was so beautiful in and out, so finally went to test drive it.
After just 2 miles, I got the bug bite: I WANT TO HAVE THIS TRUCK. I had no idea what Tremor means (they said 2 inch higher, that's all). So started to send him a vin number of a car that I thought I might want to trade in. The salesman was stupid, not responsive, etc. I sent my insider friend to ask how lower they can go with the price, they said no more, than couple of $100's. In the same time, we started to look on the internet and found a used one in TX with 8k miles on it. And $17k less.... Couple of days later we were in TX and got my F250 Tremor and I cannot be happier.
Now I am learning what a Tremor capable for (I am not going to climb rocks with it, for sure! haha) and cannot wait to get some gentle
off road experience with it!
Ever day I am going to drive it, I am so proud of it and I love it.
We changed the horn (the original one was quite embarrassing) and I ordered a cap shell (I have dogs) and looking to have extra wheels and tires (mostly used on highways, so why to run off the good off road tires on it).
