Absolutely paid for by the factory. They should install with a smile and provide you with coffee while you wait. They are full of crap. My dealer made sure to put their best heavy truck guy on it to make sure it was done right, and apologized for taking a couple extra days because of his full schedule.
interesting, how can I explain this to my dealership? They are not the best dealer which sucks, however none of the other dealerships in my area had slots for f250 custom orders. So I was having to default to his dealer. He told me on the phone would get a quote, But how can I say its supposed to be covered? Like is there in writing or something from ford that its installed in that 3000$ USD cost? How much is the winch normally itself?
I would contact Ford customer service. They should be able to straighten this out. If the dealership can't handle the install, Ford Customer Service should be able to arrange a reimbursement for another installer or dealership.
I will give them a call right now not sure who to ask for but going to just call and try to figure it out.
Shouldn’t have to be said. You Dnt pay for anything else you have on the truck when you order it. ie...running boards, spray in bedliner, etc
Agree completely. I was nervous when my dealer said this was their first Tremor winch install. I felt better when they said they preferred giving it to their most experienced guy if I was willing to give them a few days. I agreed without hesitation. As for damage during install, they should repair or replace anything damaged during install. Dealer installs carry the exact same warranty as the rest of the vehicle. I would not let them get away with denying this.
Have you ordered the truck yet? If not I would go elsewhere and confirm this when setting up the order. If you have, I would try to escalate this with Ford somehow. I can't believe the answer Ford Customer service gave you, I would have asked for a supervisor or manager while on the call. The first level reps are bottom feeders at best. Don't give up too easily. Talk to other dealers and get their take on it. They may offer to help you out to get your business.
Yea there d$@!ing you around. I ordered mine Jan 3rd and was delivered 3/11. Unfortunately sound like your dealing with a sorry dealership. Good eat for them to lose customers. Nobody cares about customer service anymore ?
Walk in ask to speak to the general manager of the store. He will get it done! If not ask, why has everyone else I know who has had it done did not have to pay for the install. If you have already payed for the truck or signed on a loan, this is exactly why it is happening to you.
