Under 600 miles and Im locked into 50MPH mode. Take it in next week for some other stuff and they'll look at the DEF system while its in. Dealer said they have had one of their other Diesels do the same thing, and it just took warming the truck up to thaw the sensor, or something to that effect. They gave me a gallon of DEF to see if it were low, which it wasnt(gauge said DEF full) but it took about 3/4 of a gallon, a little much for only 600 miles and the trucks are supposed to come full. I am going to try and throw it in the garage this weekend to see if that is the fix but I would think the gauges/sensors should be better and able withstand cold temps. Never had a problem with my other super dutys/DEF/Cold weather. Will post the outcome once issue is resolved.

That sucks, I thought they had that bug worked out of them.

I have a ton of respect for you living in the real great white north!

Just got hit with the white stuff today and I am ready for spring.

Hope the the thaw in the garage does the trick.

Wonder if DEF top off is dealer dependent? Mine was only half full when I took delivery.

We have more coming over the next week, and throw some rain in there. It has been a messy winter so far rain snow and sub 0 temps.

They usually only do that when the truck runs out of DEF so must be a sensor telling the truck it’s empty

*deep sigh*... aahhh those modern marvels of Diesel engineering... What wouldn't one give for a 7.3L pushrod V8 sometimes... :devilish:

No thanks. Ordered a 1999 F250 Superduty 1st gen with V10 - last SD gasser I've owned which includes 3 - 7.3's (still own one '01), 4 - 6.0's (survived that fiasco..) and currently 2 - 6.7's '13 and '18. Also currently have a '19 6.7 Cummins.

the 6.7 will smoke your Godzilla lol...;)

I test drove a non tremor f250 6.7 the other day when placing my order. The power on that thing is just ridiculous. When you get on the accelerator on the freeway it just takes off. The feeling of that 1K ft-lbs of torque is addictive.

I'd have considered the 7.3 but I do plan to tow a pretty big travel trailer and I didn't want to deal with like 7mpg. Right now diesel in my area is like 5 cents per gallon more than gas and even with a heavy trailer I'm hearing people getting 12mpg or thereabouts.

But honestly a lot of it just comes down to a love for diesels for me. With either engine, these trucks are fucking as bad ass as you can get.

not really an issue of diesel engineering it's more of an issue of engineers trying to keep up with ridiculous commie emissions nonsense.

i wanted to write a serious response but then I thought I’d stick to being the clown I am... here it goes:
“I think the only thing that’ll smoke between my Godzilla and your power stroke is your DEF fluid leaking as you get towed to the closest Ford dealer.”

180K on the '13 F350 6.7 with no DEF issues. 50K on the '18 F350 6.7 with zero problems. 20K on the 6.7 in the RAM with zero problems. All 3 of them even with the milage will smoke a new gasser with a real load.:)

Well you might just be right because my Godzilla is in the shop for a week already waiting to get a bunch of belt related parts replaced...
