2024 F-250 Tremor Lariat
Came out this morning to two dead batteries in my 2024 6.7L Tremor.; completely dead as in couldn't open door, no lights, no nothing. After quickly signing up for a AAA membership and paying the same-day service fee, the tech came out 3 hours later. After testing both batteries, they were both "bad" according to AAA. Truck now sits at the dealership waiting for them to "test" the batteries for a warranty claim. Seeing as how I have the AGM batteries, it seems rather unlikely and odd that I have two bad batteries. Truck only say for the two days over the weekend and nothing out of the ordinary until today.

That sucks man. But you needed AAA to tell you your batteries were dead? Haha just busting balls a little. I always have a jumper. Either a Noco jumper in the truck or a battery in my garage I keep charged to jump anything at home if needed

Dang, that sucks! It’ll be annoying, but at least it’ll be covered under warranty.

Hopefully it’s just me, but it seems like between here and random youtube vids I’ve seen— there’ve been a decent number of dead batteries? Maybe just a normal percentage, and it just stuck in my head. Could it be that battery issues are increasing because of the larger numbers of electronics and complexity in modern trucks?

Mine still isn’t built yet, but I guess I’m going to be buying a jump pack. I’m also starting to think about maybe an anderson connector to the batts for “just in case”.

We offer several options for your chicken dinner : Chicken Fried Chicken, Baked Chicken, BBQ Chicken......just let the cook know.

UPDATE: Dealer said the batteries tested fine. Also did a load test and could not find anything that was drawing the battery down. Essentially no explanation as to why the batteries died.

Decided to order two Odyssey AGMs to replace these Motorcraft batteries. Hoping that there is nothing electrical going on with the truck.

Hope you used the 20% Napa discount!

So far so good. Motorcraft is too cheap to even put handles on their batteries which make them less than fun to pull out while standing on the ground.

While I hope the batteries fix your issue I had both my batteries be completely drained several times on my 24’. Basically something was killing the batteries usually over night. At first they couldn’t find anything and the truck kept passing the parasitic draw test. Then after 37 days in service for the intermittent drain they discovered the problem was a sticking Electric Aux Heat relay in the Battery Junction Box. What’s weird is that I had never used the electric aux heat (it requires very specific steps to even turn on) and I have no idea what engaged the relay in the first place.

Fingers crossed there is nothing weird like this going on. After the dealer said nothing was wrong with the original batteries and sent the truck back home, it did sit for six days while I went on a work trip. Came back home and it started up. Have since put in the Odessys so knocking on some wood.

What @GadgetB1 said makes a lot of sense. There are other relays that could stick, such as the glow plug relays, which are used every time you start it. If it happens again, it's something to consider. I had this exact issue in my older 99 diesel. (7.3 L)

What specific steps are those? I was understanding that it was automatic and turned on if the heater was turned when the engine was cold.

Sorry don’t want to hijack his thread but I will answer the question. My understanding is that you can’t be in auto for the fan and you have to set the temp to “hi” and not a specific degree. Plus be below specific temps. It hasn’t been cold enough yet for me to test this. This image was from a 2018 service manual so the steps may have changed but Ford doesn’t make the info easy to find. I think it should work in Auto personally.

Same here.. Battery dead in two years. Insane. Doing some research now to see what to buy.

I have a single battery had same experience: dead battery after 2 years...no issues since replacing, maybe been 2 more years.

I beliwve I got the O'Reilly's pheasant special, this was something like 2 years ago.
