Dashcams

I've been using the Kenwood DRV-410 for years. It isn't made anymore but Kenwood makes nice cams in general. Mine is hardwired and fits nicely behind the rear view mirror in my car. At least it's a name you can recognize. LOL. Dashboard Camera | Car Electronics | KENWOOD USA

I just ran across a deal posted on an Auto-Vox 1520P Front & Rear on Amazon for - $69.99 (35% off after clip coupon and coupon code: "94A9IY37" )

Thanks Chris, I remember following that tread, sucks. Take it you are all fixed up again? I saw that one but probably will not have a need for the rear cam feature.
yea everything is good to go

Thanks Rona. Very interesting, looking into.
I'm more than satisfied with it. When I wrecked my other car, Owl called me to see if I was OK, then it booked marked the wreck.
Also works well as an alarm, or surveillance system to see who backs into your truck while you are away.

Thanks Cropgun. All these cams seem pricy but maybe have to adjust to it as it better work when you need it.
You get what you pay for in tech. The viofo is pretty well reviewed. If it makes you feel better the dash cam nerds will try to recommend cams that are 600-700 bucks!

^ The only thing I would be concerned about when picking a budget cam would be legible license plates. You have to at least have good enough quality to be able to give the cops a good plate number after an incident.

Totally agree. had a garmin something drive a few years ago. A pick up passed us on the left, the cover on the bed came loose, flew up on the air and landed on our front windshield and roof. Was never able to determine the plate number. What resolution is the minimum needed for that 1080?

Thank you bbret. Is the LTE included or is that a separate plan? How did you spec your order?
Looks like you have to pay for it
I like the idea but I work on a military base that doesn't allow pictures or videos to be taken... Could be a issue if it getting uploaded to the internet.... Even if it is secure ... I unplug my dash cam when I get on base but sometimes I forget to ... And that can be a problem
