Dash cam’s

And my post on it, with the one I bought (but haven't had a chance to install yet):

Wanted to throw an option in here that I went with, though notably I haven't had a chance to install it yet:

It's definitely a premium option, but I liked the fact the rear camera can be external. This means I can mount it at the very rear of the truck (likely off the receiver) and it won't be blocked by cargo or a slide-in camper.

Do you want a parking mode where it records while the truck is off or only when the truck is running?

I would go to BlackBoxMyCar and get the Blackvue DR900X-2ch Plus Dual-Channel. If you want parking mode then get either their new powercell 8 battery pack or the cellink neo. If you want cloud features while parked you can add the lte modem also.

Don’t go cheap on a dash cam and don’t run it off the trucks batteries it will only cause issues. I have been running a Thinkware U1000 with a cellink neo for a couple years. Before I got the U1000 I had others that were cheap and had nothing but issues with the cameras and battery issues with the vehicles not a single issue since.

Wow they are not bashful on the price.

I went back and forth for weeks and finally settled on the Viofo A129 4K. It has been a great camera for the money and easy to use or connect to. You can even buy a splice for the rear view mirror to power the camera so you don't have run a dedicated power line.

Amazon: Viofo A129 4K dash cam

Amazon: Mirror splice

I got a Scosche Nexs1
Works great, has parking mode(without hardwiring) as well. It also has some nighttime feature that makes it really clear.
The app is decent, but has its quirks. I haven’t had any reall issues yet.
