Good day,

I am going to be installing a dash cam that has a front and rear facing camera. One mounted on the windshield obviously but the rear I need to route out of the cab to the bed and on the back window of the topper. Before I dig too deep into this, is there a good, better, best way to route this? I have ordered the long cable which looks to be a micro USB cable. I know there is the firewall but going that route may add to the length of the cable.

Also, hardwiring. I know I can find a 12 V in the passenger kick panel, is there a switched accessory 12 V in there as well or should I route drivers side?

What are everyone's thoughts? I figured asking is a lot easier because I am sure someone has done this already. Thank you!

Most are easily tapped into your inside fuse panel and some can be plugged into your OBD plug to save going thru firewall.

I saw the OBD adapter. After second thought I think I'll just use that adapter. The routing out the cab is the more interesting part. I'd rather not go out the firewall but may have to

I am pretty sure there are grommets covering holes in back corners of the cab but I haven't looked myslef
