Looking to get some info for guys who drive there Tremors a lot. Ended up ordering a fx4 but seeing all the tremor photos has me really wanting to change my order. I drive a lot, and this truck would be my daily driver. I drive a lot locally but rack up miles going to work (NY) where diesel is hard to find. Don’t tow heavy enough either so regardless going with the 7.3, but interested in how you guys like it as a daily/work truck. Thanks.

This truck is easy to drive. I daily mine- drop off and pick up kids. Came from a Tahoe and drives very similar. My wife drives an Audi Q7 and she loves driving the Tremor when she gets a chance. I much prefer driving the Tremor over her Audi. And any time we go anywhere as a family, we take the truck. It’s really everyone’s preference. Good room inside. Seats up front are one of the most comfortable we have had. I’d recommend the Tremor. Came out of Target this evening and 3 guys were standing around mine. As I walked up the one said it’s “absolutely beautiful”. They just got out of a very nice F150. The Tremor gets a lot of positive attention. It’s fun. All around one of the best vehicles I have owned so far. Enjoy everything about it. (I’m about 11 months into ownership.)

Biggest downsides for daily driving IMO:
  • Fuel economy isn’t great in town with the 7.3L. Expect 10-13mpg when empty. (Let’s be honest: the fuel economy isn’t great in general, but that’s expected for a 7.3L engine. :ROFLMAO:)
  • It can be long. Depending on your parking spots, you might hang out of them. It’s noticeable longer than my SCAB F-150, with the worse turning radius making it feel longer than it is. Definitely workable, but something to consider depending on how tight quarters you daily drive.
  • If you have to deal with parking garages with your Tremor, good luck. Most garages in my area are 7’ tall or less, and the Tremor in stock form is pretty much exactly 7’ tall at the antennas on the back of the truck. I don’t trust parking garage measurements to be precise to the inch, so that means most parking garages are ruled out.
Other than those downsides, it’s fantastic. Comfy, good ride for a heavy duty truck, the electric assist steering makes turning the wheel when maneuvering effortless (that assist comes with the Pro Trailer Backup Assist and/or the lane departure warning system - it’s separate from Adaptive Steering), and the 360 cameras make it dramatically easier to maneuver in tight quarters.

Also heated seats, ventilated seats, heated steering wheel. Sure some of those are optional, but boy do they make daily driving nice. :D

Fuel economy is definitely my biggest factor when looking at the cons for switching up my fx4 for the tremor. I’m driving a 2019 F250 6.2 right now so definitely feeling the parking space issue haha. Definitely getting the heated seats, 360 degree cameras, didn’t get adaptive steering but I did get the pro backup assist. Not sure how much of a difference in fuel economy the fx4 would have compared to the Tremor but figured the air dam, tires, and it not being lifted helps, although I want all those things! (except for the air dam).

I drive 55 miles each way on the highway to work daily. I have the diesel and average about 18mpg. I added the 60 gallon S&B fuel tank. Get about 1000 miles out of a tank, so fill up once every 2 weeks. Truck is very comfortable and don’t have any issues.

I drive my Fx4 daily but work is close so it's not a long drive. It's fun to drive and comfortable. 2 weekends ago I hauled about 4 thousand pounds of wood on a trailer and in the back just to see how it feels loaded. It was way too easy. I get a led foot when entering the freeway just to hear that 7.3 breath a little. Once you adjust to less than half the mileage of your Camry, there isn't much to dislike. I used to think the Camry was a beautiful drive. Now it feels like a go-cart.

I live in the Suburbs of Tampa. Traffic has never been good. There are days you can sit for hours in traffic. Driving the Tremor, or any full size HD has it's obvious physical challenges .. Besides that, the truck drives great. It fits me. But, I'm a truck guy. Every time I've bought myself a car or Wrangler as a daily driver, that love affair last a couple of months, then I can't wait to get rid of it again. Prior to my Tremor I had a F450 K/R and drove 17' F150 Crew as my daily. Best of both worlds, not really. The Tremor is the perfect compromise between the epitome of Trucks, the 450, and the common sense pickup. The 7.3 Tremor makes me smile every time I drive it. I could care less what fuel cost are.

You'll get better fuel mileage (not gas mileage) with the Diesel. Through about 700 miles over the past month (came in with 20 miles on spedo and avg mpg of 14.3.... hmmmmm kentucky truck boys took it for a joyride?) I increased this to 17.8 (mostly freeway, surface routes (speed limit 45-55).

I put about 50-60 miles a day, and I've filled it up about every 9-12 days since pickup (early October).

The weight of the diesel also makes the ride smoother (as does airing down your tires, most come from the factor at around 80-85). The ride improvement may not be super noticeable depending on how much of a hard-ass you are, but still it's way better than my 1997 diesel....

And from what I can tell on these forums the past few months, the Godzilla engine gets between 12-14 (mostly freeway).

Also, I should add that every time I pass a dude in an Fx4 they always have just a *hint* of envy in their eyes :p

I like my FX4, not in the least regretful that I didn't check the tremor box. Changed the wheels and tires, so that's a wash. My wife(5ft) HATED the tremor running boards as she had to climb to them. The trail control function is kinda gimmicky, not really useful in anything around here. And ultimately, it was that I did not want 4.30 gearing. Not trying to knock on anyone's choices, just reasons why I didn't check the box.

Im really thinking about doing the Tremor with my build currently as it would be around 2000 to add with black appearance and lariat ultimate discounts. Figure tires and wheels would cost more than that. How is everyone’s opinion on clearance lights on their tremor? My color is carbonized grey if that makes a difference.

What did you update to, if I may ask?

And no worries; this seems like a place where most people have thick skin, haha. Glad you're enjoying your truck!

From an old guy who grew up in the Sierras and learned to drive in a 46' willy's Jeep, the trail control is awesome. Low/Low/Lock. Nothing about it is gimmicky to me. It crawls. It maintains your speed. Up and Down the trail. If you know how to manipulate the Limited Slip up front, it's better than a Locker.

F250 Lariat value, Black Appearance, FX4, 3.55, 7.3

I added 20x9 +12 Raceline wheels with 295/65R20 Toyo AT3s.

That's why I said around HERE. We don't have trails big enough for these trucks around here, not unless you build your own. I can see it being handy in some cases, but, for most people they will never use it other than just playing with it to see it work.

I've been daily driving mine since March 2020. Love it. However, about to retire it to the garage for a while. 31k miles in 20 months is adding up too quickly. Getting a daily driver to keep the miles off the Tremor.
