Has anyone used after market reverse lights as front cornering lights? Install in bumper on the left and right side. When you turn your turn signal on they come on and light up a dark corner. Just been thinking about it and wanted to see if anyone has actually done it.

Should be doable via Upfitter switch (to prevent turning on while normal town driving). My thinking is you would need to hold the direction stalk down or up and wouldn't be able to simply use the lane change function. Let go of the stalk, and the light goes out. Essentially considered a momentary circuit. Magic.

Remember in the 70's and 80's your luxury cars, T- Birds, caddies, Lincoln etc all came with cornering lamps that would come on and off with the directional signals?

The Subaru line has this feature. They basically use the fog lights to double for this function. Would be a great mod for someone to figure out for the Super Duties because the LED fog lights cast a wide beam to the side.

Yes, I would like side lights. Pulling into Campgrounds at night is the worst. Those 2 ft post that line the road are impossible to see. Almost makes a guy swear .. .. Louder

I agree. I just purchased A pillar lights that I’m hoping will help. Will report back once I get a chance to try them.

We've had a number of customers add Baja Designs S2 lights flush mounted and angled to the side in the plastic space below the LED fog lights. Something like this would be perfect. Also, don't forget about the mirror mounted spotted lights. They're not much, but for low speed maneuvers under 5mph they'll work.

We also have a way of adding some hood mounted lights (think Baja Designs XL80) on the pillars and then adding a small S1 on the outside of each light as a super bright cornering light.

I angle my Baja amber fogs so that they are a little wide eyed. if i need more I can just turn on the squadron pros

I really liked that feature! Made a huge difference when there weren’t any street lights in the area.

I had a new ‘79 Chrysler 300 that had them. It also had the little amber dots above the fenders that lit up with the blinkers too, to remind you they were still on. Really a Córdoba, but with the Premium 360 and dual exhaust, among other cosmetic features. Easily burned rubber from a stand-still. Had a blast with that car! It was also badged as a Charger before it shrunk down to a rebadged Mitsubishi! 😳
Our ‘90 T-Bird had them. Threw off a great cornering beam!
My wife’s ‘95 Windstar LX had them as well.
My sons ’16 Cherokee has them.

My 2020 Ford Transit van has a cornering light that’s triggered by the steering wheel turning. Why they couldn’t add that to the SD is weird. Such a nice feature to have

I added them to my Tremor long time ago!

My wife's VW Atlas does this as well but it also has the headlights that rotate to the direction you are turning too.

You can turn this on in Forscan. Can't remember what it is called right now. I turned it on & when I turned, it turned on the opposite fog light Which semmed wrong. Not sure if this was a glitch or a bad wiring issue but I turned it back off & didn't really look into it any further.

Best cornering light ever.

Mine have always been active. I like them.

Had a circuit back in the 80"s that used a diode and a 33 uf capacitor across the coil of a relay. the relay coil was connected to the turn signal and the cap held the voltage long enough so the corning light would stay on as the turn signal blinked. the corner light was connected to the contacts and power by a separate power line
