I sure hope that was how it worked answering your questions, lol....

My mileage for a 7.3 has been a little disappointing. I was hoping for 14 to 15 mpg highway in good conditions but I got 12.6 mpg based on my 450 mile trip from Disneyland to NorCal. Average speed on that leg was 70 - 75 mph. It was 11.6 mpg on the trip to Disneyland but the weather was horrible with the rain and seemingly a constant headwind so not surprised. The average speed on that leg was 65 - 70 mph. The truck stated I averaged 12.9 mpg on the 900 mile round trip. Maybe with more miles under her belt and if it's that important to me maybe raise my tire pressures.

What I have found works best for mileage is
Make sure your transmission is warm
Drive 55 to 65 mph
Don't drive into the wind
Use no ethanol gas
Stay real light on the accelerator
Only drive downhill

There are always so many variables to mpg, so I will try to add them all in. If you have some I didn't think of let me know and I will add them. Maybe a moderator can make this a sticky?

Before I hear the "it's an HD truck, expect crappy mileage" comments, I get that and expect it and not complaining about it, I still would like to know though!
I'm not sure about Diesel fuel but for the gasser guys, we are still in the winter blend for fuel and when the summer blend gets here we will be getting probably 2% MPG better! For those that don't know the difference here's a link (Winter/Summer gas Diff). My truck is on order so I can't play yet, but I will!

To try and keep this as a legit apples to apples comparison, I would like to do the following criteria. I know it's a lot, but more data points will cut down the variables. Try to answer as many as you can. If you have to leave some blank that's okay too. I made an empty template at the bottom you can copy and paste into your reply to make it easier for you.

Just got back from a 350 mile trip each way. Averaged 15.6 on the way there and 16.3 MPG on the way back. 7.3L much better then I anticipated as I was running 75-85 the whole way from New York to Ocean City Maryland.

7.3 Liter Godzilla - 2022 MY

I had enough of bad MPG. Done with it for good ;-)

Drove 1,111.2 miles to Denver, averaging 13.4 mpg - which included a good amount of off-roading, stop and go national park sightseeing driving and a bit of city driving.

Loaded a new truck camper + water + supplies which must have pushed the weight up by 1,850 lbs. Now the bad MPG is gone and I am having horrible MPG :ROFLMAO:  . Drove 1,765 miles back home - including off-roading in Canyonlands NP and other areas + I drove 70% scenic byways and avoided interstates. Average mpg was 11.1 which really surprised me. I was sure I would go below 10, but hey - I take 11 mpg any day with that load.

Close to break in, 100 mile trip, truck has not yet hit 1000 miles. 7.3l, running 70-75 mph. Full highway with a little stop and go traffic, and stop lights averaged 15mpg in ECO mode. No bed cover, stock tire pressure 60-65. Im good with this! Coming back ran close to 80, and the 100 mile return averaged 14.5. My 16 F150 EcoBoost averages 13 or less on highway, lifted with 35's, 3.55 gears.
