Clearance lights, yay or nay?

I sure hope so.

The 3m eraser wheel will make easy work of that. I've used them before to remove emblems on doors and fenders and it cleans it up with almost no elbow greese.

While browsing today, I found this product that solves the long term cab light leak issue with the foam degrading.

Thanks for the link! 👍
Just placed the order for them. I will be placing the order for your awesome fuel and def caps (and the hook and hawse) next.

Since three of the cab lights have already been replaced under warranty (went out within the first 18 months- so much for 50,000 hour lifespan!) I’ll hold off on replacing them until they start looking weathered.

Sort of on, but a little off the op topic, I have a roof marker light bulb out on my 2022. Is the bulb replaceable or does the entire light have to be replaced. My truck is under warranty. Is this covered?

I searched the forum for an answer, but after searching for 10 min, I thought this might be a good thread to ask on. Thanks in advance.

When I ordered my truck, I saw they were $99. I like the look of them, and they are not expensive. I said yes.

That was my thought process. I almost never see/think of them, but I have always liked how trucks look with them.

It's covered under the 36k/3 year. Post that, you need extended warranty with the bulb/light option.

I like the lights, those and the column shifter distinguish these from the f150s down.
I honestly cannot imagine having a truck bigger than a half ton without lights on the cab.

Doesn't the nose also have a different shape entirely? Like you couldn't swap headlights, grill etc from a 150 to a 250? Maybe I'm looking at it wrong

You're right - the F150 and F250+ share a cab - front clip is different.

I meant the cab lights, but the daytime running lights are different too

I'm quite fond of the column shifter in my '21 F-150. They usually make more sense to me in a pickup with an automatic.

The only truck I've had with cab lights is my Power Wagon and they leak only rarely. I can't discern a pattern or specific cause. Car wash, piled up melting snow, rain... any of those but only once in a while. Weird. I could do without them but they do look nice.

Sorry for the delayed response. Been off-site for a while.

As Vermonster replied, 3/36 warranty replaces the entire light assembly. ESP coverage requires the LED rider option for coverage.

Sorry, I do not know if it is possible to replace just the bulb. But it appears that both ways require the removal of the light assembly from the cab, so I would think that it would be better to just replace the light assembly instead of cracking it open (if that is even possible) to replace the bulb and risking leakage between the lens and housing which could lead to corrosion to the internal electronics/bulb and maybe even lead to leakage into the cab.

If out of warranty, I have no idea of the pricing, but I would check the difference between buying a single light assembly versus a full package of five. It might be better to invest in the whole set instead of just one and be ahead of the game if future failures occur while you still own it.

After losing the first three within 18 months, the remaining two originals have not failed to date. If any of the five do, I have the ESP LED rider so Ford will get the honors of replacing them, not me. 👍
