Just kidding! I filled up this morning and now my truck is making its own fuel ?. Nah, this is the kind of fuel range you get driving around Yellowstone National Park going between 30 and 50mph for a few days hours and hours each day. The range increased as the day went on. Normally my fuel range is between 300-400 miles per tank.

Damn…I have yet to see the 600’s!?

I’ve had quite a few instances of my truck making its own fuel. And then suddenly burning it all at once.
Yeah, like when I hook the trailer up again in a couple days and it goes from 600 mile range to 200 mile range in the first 10 miles. ?

I routinely see the 600s, although I don’t necessarily believe the lie-o-meter too much. It’s more of a “guideline.” And this is for my everyday stuff, in town and highway driving. Ultimately I’m happy with the fuel mileage though. Hope y’all have a good weekend!

You’d have to think pretty hard to make an algorithm this bad. I don’t know how Ford does it.
KISS principal. Seriously, they probably just take the last 30 to 60 minutes of fuel consumption and then calculate range based on the fuel remaining. Easy, fast, and the data is not hard to manage.

On my 7.3 I went from 350 miles of range to 475 and back to 350 within a half of a tank just due to how and where I drove. Not even towing. I expect that is even worse due to the step change in MPG by simply hitching and unhitching.

Kelly Johnson is rolling over in his grave.

i have heard/read several times that Northern diesel is "better" formulated with less instance of contamination, i am not sure why that would be though.. youd think its all the same but maybe not. i know here in Alberta/Calgary our "Top Tier" rated formulations are adjusted eight times a year.

Mine normally says 600ish. The meter says I average 19. No idea what it's actually getting. Haven't bothered to check since it doesn't really matter. It runs out when it runs out lol.

This is my record with the stock tank. I was surprised to see such a high number from the lieometer.
