If the stock ones fail, and the Massive ones don't, then you know. I'm not gonna change mine unless the stock ones fail, but I carry the Massive ones just in case. How would you validate they are any better than factory plug wires?

Ask the TFL guys. They have an answer for you!How often do stock plug wires fail? In the 30 years I've been driving I've never had it happen to me, which may be just lucky.
OP, Did these wires smooth your idle out at all?
The new wires took care of my issues with idle.Curious how these work out. I bought a set too, just haven't installed them yet.
The wires on the 7.3 are not the same as wires from years ago. They are very close to the exhaust manifold and they have a steel casing around the end where they bend to go onto the plug. It seems they fail from heat, but I haven't seen one cut open to verify. Someone posted a picture looking into the end and it looked burned. I'm hoping the Massive ones are better, but we'll see.How often do stock plug wires fail? In the 30 years I've been driving I've never had it happen to me, which may be just lucky.
Me and a buddy put a set on his truck after mine. He experienced the same exact thing as you. The smell went away and he hasn’t had any issues since. Mine never put off a burn smell. Kinda crazy.Has anyone experienced a burning plastic smell after installing the wires and running the engine hard? I was towing my boat and started smelling burning plastic when going up a sustained hill at 4000rpm. Truck still runs fine. I'm hoping its just the new wires breaking in. It seems to have dissipated now. We'll see the next time I tow the boat.

I changed mine out this AM and noticed a hot smell after test driving it. I think it’s just the newness burning off the insulators.Has anyone experienced a burning plastic smell after installing the wires and running the engine hard? You can also use a .22 round to replace an old school glass fuse. HahahaIf a stock one fails while you are on a trip, and you have no replacements, cut and bend a coat hangar wire, or baling wire, to run from the coil to he plug. Form the ends to fit the coil and to grab the plug. The heat won't bother that wire, and it probably has less resistance than the carbon string of
