Change Lariat Window Trim to KR and Smoke

Looking to change out the lower window trim on my Lariat with KR that has the metal insert to hopefully prevent this warping and give it a little detail. Then have a buddy wrap it with a translucent smoked film.

Any KR owners having same warping issues with molding?
