I thought a few may find this helpful or interesting
I took my f350 7.3 lariat to the scale today
I filled up the gas at the truck stop.
It was me at 210lbs and my 40 lb 3 year old.
11300 GVWR. 3849lb payload

very interesting how close the numbers are.
I thought Ford only used a 150lb driver when they determine PayLoad

when you do the math. 11300 minus 7440 it comes out to 3860. Very close to my stick

I was surprised how close mine was too. Scale showed my KR Ultimate weighing 7650, payload sticker of 3650. Bit surprising to me as I weigh more than the '150lb driver' they specify and also have a tonneau cover on.

I know this is a slightly old thread, but to clarify for anyone coming across this in the future: payload specifications don’t account for any vehicle occupants. They merely account for full fluids, including a full gas tank.

A 150 pound driver is accounted for in the towing rating as specified by J2807. But J2807 isn’t involved in payload capacity at all.
