Installed Carli commuter today, dealer installed Carli caster shims and it added way too much caster. They reinstalled the factory shims for a 3.3 degree of caster. Is that enough? I haven’t driven it yet, and I’m guessing the springs will squat a lil eventually

What is way too much caster? What was the measurement?

I'm not the best resource for this so take it with a grain of salt. With a disclaimer in mind, I have read several times that dealer techs will only allow caster measurements to fall within Ford spec. However, Carli has their own specs for what works. Not sure the dealer will allow going out of their window.

I'm thinking this might be the issue but without any actual data, nobody will be able to give you a solid answer. Can you post your alignment sheet?

I would imagine the Carli kit adds +2 degrees of caster.

Does the Tremor come with increased caster angles as part of the factory lift?

I've lifted a lot of Toyotas and you usually want to shoot for around 4 degrees of caster. This is just outside of Toyota spec on most of their trucks. Usually the more caster a truck has the better as it allows the steering to naturally return to neutral and assists in smooth turning.. its going to be the same on this or any other truck.

5 degrees may be excessive though.. caster will also impact the forward position of the wheel inside the wheel well so an excessively high caster may contribute to rubbing.

Second opinions are always a good thing.

I will when I get home, out of state for this hurricane, he told me spec was 3-5

You’ll know when you drive it. Too much wandering. Not enough. Stiffer steering. Too much.
Have a 78 FJ40 with a Old Man EMU lift. Really had to watch the pinion angle when adjusting the caster. Not sure if this is an issue on these trucks.

After Carli leveling and Carli shims, my caster angle is +2.2 degrees. The tech said he wished it was a bit more. I may be adding Carli radius arms later to get a bit more caster.

Ford spec for these trucks is 1.5° - 4.1°

It's going to feel much better and steer easier closer to the top of that range.

Cross caster is -.9° - .3° but I prefer pretty even values so that the vehicle tracks straight.

Ya I’ve run into that issue with Jeeps

My specs after Carli 2.5” Pintop. Fox ATS 2.0 stabilizer, so alignment was for neutral bias stabilizer. Tracks and steers perfect at all speeds?
Still waiting on my Carli Radius Arms and Deavers. Once installed will repost alignment specs.

Surprised to see Negative Camber on the left front, usually see 0 to about +.5 degrees. May favor a little inside edge tire wear. In spec because of wide tolerance but optimal is in the center of the display. Just nitpicking. No offense.

Tried it tonight! Rides great, and handles better than it did stock. Maybe my alignment was off from the factory, because it tracks way better now!

What options did you get with your commuter kit?

I'm curious - these kits are made for a non-lifted truck. With the Tremor factory lift is there a need for sway bar drop brackets or extended sway bar links?

Just the drop bracket and track bar.

Ordered a '22 MY Sport F350 Lariat.

I primarily went with Lariat VS King Ranch to suspension because I want this to ride more like the Raptor.

What are your guys thoughts on this? Will this setup achieve a close ride? ALSO - I'm going to upgrade to 37" tires with this setup is the hope along with airbags.

Thanx for the future input.

Check out CJC Offroad for the parts. They are more concise and clear of what Carli parts you need compared to Carli's site.

Are you planning on keeping the OEM 18" rims? If you go with aftermarket 17" ones, it will offer a more compliant ride due to more sidewall.
