I thought I’d share some photos of how I have arranged my set up for camping.

I have a pop up roof top tent mounted on my canopy. Inside the canopy, I have 2 100Ah batteries which run the canopy lights, roof top tent light, 240v 1,000 w pure sine wave inverter to run the electric blanket and anything else, volt meter, car fridge, car freezer and to plug the solar blanket into to recharge the batteries. Also, I can plug USB cables in as well.

A 50 amp DC to DC inverter fused front and rear takes power from the alternator. I run a twin drawer system and an 80 litre fresh water tank. A drop down fridge slide hold the 60 litre fridge. LED lights are on the side and rear windows to illuminate outside the canopy, with three more mounted inside the canopy.

The air compressor runs off

a dedicated circuit breaker as it draws 90 amps.

A domed awning has 2 LED lights, one on each side. Another LED light is inside the tent. 2 side facing LEDs, one on each side, are used to illuminate the area for turning in scrub or for general use.

An 80 channel UHF CB radio is mounted behind the dash, with the aerial mounted on the roof rack. A small aerial is left in place when driving around town, a longer aerial is used on trips.

I can isolate the alternator and cranking battery by a switch, or I can isolate the AGM batteries from everything.

That's a very self contained set-up. I like the pull out drop down mount on the fridge. Also, the dash mount plug for the CB mic looks well done too.

Talk about an overlanding build! Where does your water tank go?
