Black appearance package huh?

Ok, so looking to order a Lariat Tremor. I like black, don’t like chrome…

I’m trying to figure out what I missing with the black appearance package. Seems like some pretty minimal upgrades for $4200 bucks (I know there a 500 discount with the Tremor package, so $3700)…
Then a spray in Ben liner worth $500

So it’s about $3200 for the following items:
Painted bumpers
Painted headlight trim
A couple other trim/emblem items
Rear fender liners

Is there something substantial I missing to account for the cost? Seems like I could get upgraded heavy duty bumpers and paint/replace some trim for less than that?

Educate me folks!!

I don’t believe you are missing much. Reasons you have listed above are why I went with the chrome package. I switched out my bumpers. As always, still work to be done!?

Lariat Ultimate does not include the LED headlights. Being called the Ultimate package you think it would.

If I recall correctly, mine is a 2020 Lariat Sport, has black out package, LED headlights, and damn near every option minus heated steering wheel and massaging seats (which my ‘18 Platinum f-150 had). Dunno if this helps..?

Using the online build tool, tremor with black package and ultimate lariat is $67,095. Tremor, LED lights, bed liner and ultimate is $65,145. So you are paying $1,950 for black badges/grill and painted bumper. Personally that was worth it to me as I don't like the chrome but everyone likes something different.

Also, as others have said lariat ultimate doesn't come with LED lights. You either need black appearance package or LED lights option.

I have the Ultimate Lariat and it has LED headlights ( its a 2020 ) did that change???

Maybe the LEDs come with the Sport package. It was changed in 2021 to black. someone should confirm this, its kind of a big deal. The LED lights are awesome and should be included for what these trucks cost.

It’s still cheaper to get the black package than try to swap everything. I have been trying to figure out how to do my XLT. Bumpers are $1000 and around $600 to paint. Black grill is $500. Black side emblems $250. Black Ford emblems $250. Headlights $1800(marimoto)-$2300(ford). If you don’t do the tremor package then you throw in rims and tires too.

My 2021 Lariat Black appearance came with the LED headlights. These are also “blacked out” as well. When I originally saw the listing, I thought it was just the blackout if you ordered the LED, but it actually comes with blacked out LEDs.

Black appearance package also blacks out the roof clearance lights if they’re on the order FWIW, though doesn’t include them so no real impact to pricing either way.

Your not missing much, they want a kings ransom to deface the "blue" oval. IIRC, been almost 6months since I placed my order, but I think one of the packages also includes rear fender liners.

The big difference I missed was the LED lights. I thought you just got black trim for the lights IF you were paying a separate upgrade for LED.

I do like the idea of factory blacked out headlights…

I’m going to struggle with this option. I plan to replace the bumpers with aftermarket…

So It ends up being 2k for smoked headlights, black grill and black emblems.

I could easily black out anything but the headlights. I won’t mess around with that. Just gotta decide if that’s worth 2k to me ?
