So I’m getting very close to ordering my tremor.
I am looking to order it from northern Ohio/Detroit area

I found a dealer that will do $600 under x plan.
anyone do better in that area....?

About same here. I am locked in $500 under X plan unless there are better offers when the truck arrives.

I was able to get X plan which I thought was a good deal. I’d do it! However they have me a great price for my trade in.

I hit it pretty hard and I ordered about three weeks ago at $750 below invoice (invoice and x-plan are nearly identical). Just joined Farm Bureau at $50 for an extra $500 rebate worst case. Fingers still crossed for a PCO, or an increase in standard SD rebates, but not holding out much hope for either.

Not a lot of room on these trucks right now. If you want to hold out for more normal market pricing then who knows how long until the market re-adjusts back down historical norms.

I don't know if this is true, but my dealer said the Costco Auto Program is a better deal than X-plan. Again, I'm not sure if this is true. I could have gone either route.

From what I have gathered Costco negotiates with dealers and not Ford. So some dealers may give better than XPlan, others may not.

Anyone going xplan check all available options you have. One of mine had an extra $1000 rebate that the other didn't.

Also throw a $ out at dealer. I am at a bit better than the $1000 under XPlan. Worse they say is NO and you go Xplan

I had a dealer in TX give me $1000 below dealer invoice.

Sadly it's too far away being in SoCal to deal with logistics. I got X Plan locally instead.

The money I'd spend flying to TX, hotel 2 nights, and fuel and food for the long haul back to the People's Republik of Commiefornia would likely offset that thousand bucks in savings.

PM sent. Desperately seeking a truck.

My Costco plan offer was $300. below invoice at a dealer about a hundred miles away. I took that offer and went to my local dealer. He immediately offered $500. below invoice. And that was where I wanted to buy it anyway.

All this after building one on the Ford website, and giving them my name, email address, etc. A week or so later, a $2,000. cash offer from Ford appeared in the mail. It was for purchases from dealer stock. But it turns out that once the dealer has a VIN on an ordered truck, it counts as being on the lot. So the offer worked on my ordered truck. Bottom line: $500. below invoice, plus $2,000. from Ford, or $2,500 below invoice. This translates to about $6,100. off an MSRP of about $72,100. Or, a purchase price of about $66,000. F250 Tremor Lariat 7.3, LED, Rapid Red with accent, surround cameras, 5th wheel prep, Ultimate package, winch, f/r wheel well liners and mud flaps, console vault, upfitter switches, etc, etc.

I ordered mine on Nov 21 and the cash offer expires on Jan 4, but I don't have to take delivery by Jan 4. Just had to make a deal by then, or have a VIN by then. I had my VIN the first week of Dec.

I stopped by the dealer, showed them my offer from Ford, and they entered into the computer and confirmed I'm locked in with the cash offer.

Here's what to do: Build one on-line and give Ford your contact information. Then order one. Start your negotiations at $500. below invoice. Never, never, never start the negotiations at MSRP. And better yet, start out with the fleet manager if you can, and before you talk to any salesmen. Once you talk to them, they get a commission. In this case, I talked to the sales manager who was able to make immediate decisions and give me a reason to not buy at the other dealer. Then Ford will send the cash offer. Go to the dealer and show them the offer, after they have the VIN, but before the offer expires. Tell them you understand that having a VIN is the same as having it on the lot, as far as the offer is concerned. They'll enter you in the computer and confirm it.

Now, I wait. Estimated at 12 weeks. I'm just over a month now. Time flies when you're having fun.

I was able to finagle around $1k below X plan because I had X plan, and because if I drove two counties to the north, I would be able to save a thousand because the sales tax is lower. Long story short anything below X plan is sweet in my opinion...

Just saw this idea on the Farm Bureau. Can anyone join and does the $500 rebate stack on top of PCO offers and other rebates?

I already have a $2500 PCO locked in, along with the $250 customer cash offer, but I will gladly put another $450 in my pocket if the rebates are stackable.

Have to be a farm bureau member for 30 days prior to using it

not sure on stacking

My dealer said the exact samething. I don’t believe them either. Costco program saved me $3,800 of MSRP.

How are you folks negotiating? I've been finding it impossible to get a dealer to move from MSRP if the truck is already on the lot, and they insist on $2k over invoice for an order with 19 priority code - so easily a 3+ month wait.

Trucks on the lot I can understand - they need to keep the lights on and took a risk ordering it without a buyer. But an order with a 3+ month wait where they're basically making $7k+ just to sign paperwork... ugh. Unless they have no super duty allocation, and were banking on their allocation to make them big bucks - I could see that, too.

Overall it's just a tough pill to swallow to pay more than $1k under invoice when I know about all of their holdback, advertising kickbacks, etc. they get from Ford.

Any tips? Or just keep reaching out to new dealerships and asking if they want to help me place an F350 order?

Banana,

Go back and read post #11 more carefully.

Never talk to a normal salesman. Only the fleet manager or sales manager.

Do a build, on line, on the Ford site and enter your name, address, email address, and phone number, as they ask. Then the dealers can refer to it, and you'll get a cash offer from Ford.

The cash offers have an expiration date and they are designed for the sale of a truck on the lot. But if the dealer has a VIN, it is the same as a truck on the lot. So order and wait about two weeks, but before the expiration date. Then go to the dealer and ask if they have a VIN yet. If yes, ask them to enter your cash offer into the computer. They will and they will verify that it is valid. Ding! Including your deal of $500. below, you just got $2,500. off of dealer invoice. Cool.

Talk to a dealer you don't want to buy from first, a Costco affiliated dealer, ask them if they will honor a Costco deal. Of course they will, for about $300. below invoice. Ask them to print your order with the list of options you have chosen, your possible order, so you can review it, as it will have their dealer name on it to refer to with the dealer you want to deal with.

Take that to a dealer you like, or is close by, and ask them if they too will give you that deal, or beat it. But again, ask someone there who can make a decision and who you don't have to pay a commission to. That will be the sales manager, or the fleet manager.

If they refuse to deal, walk out and find another dealer, or tell the Costco dealer you are ready to go for $500. below, as that is the going rate according to your research.

It is not hard to get $500. below invoice, minus the $2,000. Ford cash offer, which means $2,500 below dealer invoice. Do not fall for an MSRP "deal". Do not buy out of desperation. Own the deal, or walk.

As others have said, talk to the Fleet Manager. I contacted several dealers and I received the best deal from the Fleet Manager recommended by another member on this forum. His first offer was $1K under invoice for a special order, and he is honoring my $2500 PCO and any other Ford factory incentives, so I am at $4K under invoice when it is all said and done.

The last thing you want to do is enter into a conversation with the first glad-handing salesman who pops up, acts like your new best friend, and wants your name. Your name goes in his file and he gets a commission on your sale. Further, he can't make any deals without the consent of the sales manager anyway. He's just a middle man who wants the highest price he can get. Just keep walking on your way to the fleet guy, or the sales manager. You can find them by asking the receptionist just inside the door.

Also, buying at the end of the month is good because they are trying to get their numbers up. I walked into a Honda dealer at the end of the month, late in the evening, when no other customers were there, and they practically offered to pay me to take one away. By far the lowest price I had been able to find.

Remember: Do not buy a car when you need one! Buy it when you are not stressed and have time to look around, and your car is still fine. Be perfectly willing to walk away. Do not be in a hurry. Do not tell them they have the one you're been looking for. And do not tell them you'll be paying cash, even if you intend to. You can reveal that after they write the contract with the full sales price. The price you are comfortable with. But ordering is still the best way to go because you get exactly what you want and you can shop the same truck at different dealers. If any one of them tells you Super Duties are hard to get, just laugh at them and walk out. You are not there to find a new friend, find someone to talk to, or be BS'd by a salesman. You are there to get your new truck and get it at a great deal.
