2021 F-250 Tremor
I know this isn’t new to many, but I just purchased a brand new 2021 F-250 Tremor and after getting home I realized the bed is not aligned with the cab. Not sure how I missed it at first sight but I was wondering if anyone has tried to fix this themselves? I’ve read the bed has very little adjustment room so it’s likely I will have to shift the cab over some. I asked the dealer about this and they said they could look at it but that I would have to leave the truck with them for 4 or 5 days before a tech could get to it. I don’t want to wait that long and I’ve learned dealers usually do crap work anyways. I would like to know what the torque spec is for the cab mount bolts and the torque spec for the bed bolts. I figure if I do it myself I can make it how I want it. I can’t seem to find the torque spec for hardly anything on this truck online.

Send some pics

I just noticed yesterday that mine is off a little too.
Be sure to weigh the fact that your axel may be shifted in the same direction and lining the bed with the body will make it look like your wheel is sticking way out on one side.

Did ya fix it?

Do you have a 5th wheel prep?

First thing I checked when I picked up Mjölnir.
Well, as soon as my eyes re-adjusted to normal.
(and I have 5er prep)

Apparently the 5th wheel prep is installed after the truck is built. Across the street where the bed liners are sprayed. I believe they have to remove (lift) the bed to install and if they are swamped and short handed there is likely little effort taken to re-align things.

Its probably a good idea to make sure all the bolts are tight.......

I recall that there are a couple of pins that position the bed when it's lowered onto the frame - or at least there used to be.

There's a video from a tech called "Rain City Wrench" where he removes a bed to install the 5th wheel kit. I think that's where I saw the pins.

Good luck!

Yep, about 30:35 he highlights the plastic alignment pins on the passenger side only (2x).

I got home and look under truck to add MODS. Found 4 bolts ready to fall out. Took video and sent to dealer. 5 Star Ford had me in next morning. They tighten every bolt and check everything else under the truck at the same time. Also luck out we found swirl marks in the bed made at the factory by one of the bolts. So they paid for my spray liner.

With a subscription of $35 per year after the initial 6 months that's free.
Oh I get it! They have little motors that kick the bed out of alignment when your subscription lapses! But when you pay up again, the bed lines right up!

Don't give Ford any ideas...😛🤫

MINE WAS FINE UNTIL IT DID AN UPDATE.

Right!! How long would the delay be because they couldn’t install the bed alignment subscription enforcement device on truck due to the “chip” shortage. You’d be ordering a truck for your grandkids.

When these motors fail, which they will, do they default to out of alignment to ensure that people pay to get them fixed.
