I mentioned on here not that long ago that I ordered a Dual Steering Stabilizer Kit from BDS Suspension. However, I did not order anything until after communicating with someone associated with BDS on FB Messenger. I asked if the Dual Fox 2.0 Steering Stabilizer Kit was compatible with the 2021 F-350 Tremor. During the course of the back-and-forth exchange, I was told it was compatible.

I recall being impressed that I received a response on Christmas Day (wasn’t expecting it, it was quiet and I had nothing else to do) and I complimented whomever for being so Johnny on the spot. I placed the order on December 26 and received an order confirmation on the same day (10:14a ET). Following the order being placed and through the course of online “conversation” (Instagram), I was told that I’d be lucky if BDS ever delivered anything and frankly, this concerned me. So, I sent an email to [email protected] and asked if the parts I ordered were in stock and available to ship or, if there was a substantial lead-time prior to shipping. Less than an hour later, I received a response from Chris Lytle informing me of a four to six week lead time. This wasn’t represented on their website, but I wasn’t too concerned and responded that I “can work with that.”

And of course, thanks to the huge level of good info on this site, I learned that someone here had an exchange with someone at BDS, apparently via email, and was told in writing that the kit wasn’t compatible (due to clearance issues) on the Tremor. The member here pasted an excerpt from the exchange in his post. So, on Jan 13, I sent another email to Chris Lytle and pasted the response from the BDS employee about the issues and requested the order be cancelled. Chris replied, telling me my order already shipped. This is where things started going South.

First, Chris was confused about where my order shipped, as he mentioned in his reply that it shipped to my requested Distributor....I didn’t request it be shipped to a Distributor, I selected that it be shipped to my residence. After a bit of frustrating back and forth, he then apologized for the first of his many mistakes and said it actually shipped to my residence. Since he never responded to the info I pasted about the compatibility issues, I pressed him for an answer, now that the kit had shipped. In that email, I told him I had lost interest and would likely return it for a refund.

His response was, “Mike, The product you purchased fits 05-current Ford F250 4wd and F350 4wd.” Again, implying it works on my truck, so I had to specifically corner him by telling him again that I had inquired about the Tremor package every time I asked about compatibility....it’s all in writing. He finally responds, telling me he finally got off his ass (my words here) and asked “one of my techs” (Gerald Dibean), and was told that because the Tremor “has approximately one inch of lift from the factory,” it ”will not fit.” He then said he’d have Jerry, a “sales member,” reach out with an RMA. Come to find out, Jerry is actually Gerald Dibean, the “tech” he asked about compatibility. WTF is wrong with these people!? I asked Jerry, the “sales member/tech,” after I received the RMA if he would be supplying a shipping label and I never received a response.

So, I shipped the unopened box back to Michigan, shipping cost out of my pocket, was $40.66. I informed Chris of this and asked that he include it in the refund and he responds with, “please provide the email where we confirmed fitment.” Holy f*ck! He just wrote an email confirming that it fit 05 to present F250s and 350s and had to be pressed, again about the Tremor package....So, I told him to provide just the refund and I’ll never do business with BDS again, at this point I was done with this guy. I tracked the package and it was delivered back to Sport Trucks in Michigan on January 20....so I allow some time for them to get their head out of their ass and inquired about the refund to this useless Chris guy via email on January 25. No response. I send another inquiry about the refund on February 2, no response. So later in the day on the 2nd, I call his extension and leave a voice mail....no call back. So, I call the general number, speak to the receptionist, tell her what the deal is and after a few minutes, end up with who turns out to be, the only guy in the company (the receptionist was pretty cool as well) that has a f’n clue....in fact, this guy should be the CEO.

So this accounting guy (I won’t mention his name out of the respect he earned) jumped on this situation and within a little while, sends me a text saying that $499.32 is being refunded to my card. I thanked him for handling things so quickly, but told him the charge to my card was $527 and some change (couldn’t remember exactly) and I would share my statement charge. He quickly responded saying the “sales team,” which apparently includes the ”sales member/tech,” whatever the f*ck that is, only included the original order....big surprise, these retards in “sales” had no clue.

So, I snapped a pic of my statement charge and sent it back to cool accounting guy and it reflected a charge of $527.78. He quickly responded, again, and said he’d ask some questions. Basically, 40 minutes later, he responded to let me know the full amount, plus shipping was being refunded. Like I said, this Dude was cool, quick to respond, was patient with me when he originally answered the phone, because I wasn’t the easiest person to deal with at that point, but it wasn’t hard for me to hear that he actually wanted to help.

I realize this is a long, detailed story, likely amusing to some, but I hope, if you deal with the puke monster sales member/tech dumb asses at BDS Suspension, you have a better experience than I did. If only cool accounting guy was in the sales department....

The happy ending is, while all this BDS drama was unfolding, I called the Dude at PMF and within five minutes had a solid technical answer about his system, no question that it would work, and of course, some of you already have it installed on your Tremors. I hung up from speaking to him (I think his name was Troy), ordered the system and it showed up on my doorstep in about a week and a half....no drama, no dumb asses and no need to call the cool accounting guy to action.

Stupidity + apathy + laziness + deceit + cowardice is a deadly combination.

Good on ya for fighting the good fight. I'm glad it eventually worked out for you.

You will LOVE the PMF kit!!!!!!!!!!!!

That really sucks, as I have had excellent results dealing with them, quick and accurate responses. In fact I have the same dual steering stabilizer on my truck, and recall seeing on their site that it does not fit stock trucks, they need to be lifted. Not sure why they designed it that way, but they did.

I’m pretty tolerant, but after it reaches a certain point....

I sure do. There’s too much snow at the moment to get it installed, but I mocked it up on the work bench and it’s incredibly well thought out. Can’t wait to get it installed.

It truly does, I was rooting for these guys when the negativity started on IG, because they responded on Christmas Day and was easy to deal with (in the beginning). I even gave them a pass on the four to six week lead time, but it fell apart pretty quickly. Then, short changing me after not admitting they misinformed me? Nope....
