I used eaqual balancing beads rather than traditional weights.

They seem to work well and have some distict advantages over weights. They can't fall off, and they don't look ugly stuck to your nice rims. And for those of us running 17" wheels there is no caliper clearance issue with weights.

They can however ( more like definately will) get stuck in a valve core not allowing it to seat properly when you add air. Some balancing bead manufacturers will sell you a filtered valve core to eliminate this problem. The caveat is you need 1.5" of straight stem to accept most of these. I purchased 2 different filtered cores on amazon today, one did look shorter and didn't say anything about requiring a longer valve stem so I will report back with my results.

ESCO balancing beads claim they will not clog a standard valve core, since the beads are larger in diameter. If these new filtered cores do not work, I will be switching from Equal to Esco beads.

I am going with 37x17s for mine and I specifically asked the tire store about using balancing beads because of the caliper clearance issues. Their “tire expert” said he does not recommend them for our trucks due to the issues you stated above. Plus, he said they make a huge mess when you change your tires in the future.

He said for my truck they will not double stack the weights, which is the way they have been doing it for years on vehicles with tight caliper clearances. I trust his opinion, so I will not be using the beads.

yes to this^^^^^

I've never had a problem with dyna balancing beads clogging the valve stem. I have used them in 3 different bikes and two trucks and one car trailer and luv them. But I don't air down that often for off-road

The only thing I've never had a truck with tire monitors, but when me tremor arrives they will be in it as well. They worked in my cbr954rr all the way to 198mph so I became a believer. And always help to get a few more miles out of the bikes tires too

Looking at your list of current rides, your 2021 Tremor is going to be a HUGE UPGRADE! (y)

Never bought a truck that's not at least 10yrs old. I haven't even drove a new 7.3l gas because I can't find any within a 100miles. Just can't afford the 6.7. I ordered my tremor the week after Christmas and now I'm just waiting

More info - I wanted to see how balancing weights would work out rather than the beads that are clogging my air fill valves. So on a whim I said fuck it and brought the truck to a tire guy today. First problem was he noticed one of my new method rims was bent on the inner bead. I have no clue how that happened since I haven't even wheeled my truck off-road yet. I called Method today and they are making good by sending me a new one next month when they are due to arrive back in inventory. They said they will send a return label for me to return the damaged wheel. Good people there!

Second problem is - The weights, although not double stacked and very thin still rub the calipers a tiny bit. Enough to make an annoying noise. I'm now stuck with waiting for the weights to either wear in a little so they stop rubbing, but they might sooner fall off. Looks like I might have no choice except to go back to balancing beads. If I do, I'll likely go with Esco beads as they claim they will not clog the valves.

Contact dyna beads and see if it's a problem with there's. They are very tiny

Thanks for giving the weights a try and providing your feedback. I will keep my fingers crossed that my 17" Fuel Zephyrs are slightly bigger to the point of not making annoying sounds from the weights. If they do, I will ask them to do the research on which are the best balancing beads.
