I just ordered new rims and tires for the Tremor. They asked if I want balance beads instead of magnets. I took the bait. Did I screw up?

37’s on 20’s. -12 offset

I want to say I saw @Big John Son post something about them somewhere on this site when he got a new wheel and tire setup . If I remember it was a positive review. I apologize if I’m giving out bad info. It’s just from my (pretty terrible) memory.

if you put enough of them in, then they can help. the problem comes with finding the right amount to insert, vs mass of the tire, speed, side wall flex and lastly how balanced the tire is to begin with. Not saying you cant use them, but there are a lot of factors that play into it. Using tire weights really is an easier solution. There have been multiple conversations about these all over various forums. One that i was really into was some racing forums. Overall it seems that most people prefer the weights.

Yes, I went with Equal and have no problems with balance running 35" Toyo MT's

Well. I hate these things. The beads were definitely not the way to go or the company messed it all up. So pissed. I feel like my truck is going to shake apart. Just have to find the time and motivation to get the beads out and the tires rebalanced. I’ll try to get a video of how bad the truck shakes. I don’t drive it much though. Still under 2k miles and have had it for 6 months.

Hook line and sinker. Yes, you took the bate.
When I put 37's on my Jeep, I tried beads. It didn't work. So I tried more beads. They didn't work either. It was a mistake that was painful to undue. To get them out, you have to pull the tires and vacuum them out. Then remount and balance the usual way.

I have asked multiple people who sell tires over the years, and not a single one of them recommend the tire beads. Your experience is on par with the horror stories they told me. I went with normal weights on my 37s and they have been perfect so far.

Yeah these are 37” too. Unreal. This steering wheel shake is terrifying at 70 mph. This company sells ridiculous amounts of wheels and tires. I’m very surprised they would continue to sell this product.

I use Balancing Beads in my Polaris, and all my Trailer Tires. On my F450 I had Balance Master "Rings" on the Front Wheels. Zero complaints and even Tire wear. However, -12 offset, 20" wheels and 37" tires .. thats a lot of weight outside your Axle and Wheel Bearing. Look into Centramatic balancing Rings.

I run "balance beads", actually Dyna Beads in my Harley and I had them in my Chopper. I also know guys that have run them in semi-truck tires. I have had great luck with them and I haven't really heard any negative?

I like them in a light weight tire like a bike, but having tried them in a heavy set of tires on my previous F150, I decided to go back to standard wheel weights. The beads seemed inconsistent and I noticed vibration at certain speeds. It also took a lot of beads for large tires.

I prefer places like Discount Tire where I can get rotate/balance/repairs at no cost.
