Any suggestions on how to get the damn Ethernet cable for the BantamX through the firewall grommet? It looks like there’s two, one inside the cab and one outside, and I can’t see anything with how tight the engine compartment is.

I don’t appreciate your situation, so this suggestion may be way off.

Are you struggling with getting the RJ45 end through the grommet? If that’s it, don’t be afraid of just running cable and crimping your own ends on. Much easier to run and get the exact length you need.

Yeah, the bantam X comes with a power cord to include that end. It’s more a matter of reaching the grommet, which is deep in the engine compartment. I had one suggestion just to shove some coat hanger through there and then maybe I will tape the and on then try to pull it back through. The problem is, I can’t even see the pass-through Grommit. I think I’m supposed to use by looking down into the engine compartment. I can only feel it coming up through the wheel well

Hey @Mtbhikernv,

You should have enough slack between the harness and the grommet for you to slide it through. Also, how are you trying to route the cable? Engine through the firewall to the cabin? I would recommend going backward. Cabin through the firewall to the engine compartment.

Hey @Baja Designs, what is the reason that the BantamX upfitter system won’t work with a 22? Really would like to put this in my truck. Also, any thoughts on making one for a Bronco with upfitters?

Hey,

the only thing that doesn't work is the mounting bracket. You need to modify the current gen bracket to make it work. At the moment there is nothing in the works but do see us possibly going back and testing some other vehicles as well.

@Baja Designs Can you make the baja designs xl linkable with XL80s I have a few XL80s laying around and wad thinking of seeing if I can make an linkable kit with 7 XL80s instead of XL sports. If so how can I buy the linkable components and mounting hardware?

My linkable is 80s so it is possible. Full disclosure though, I ordered it that way.

Our Linkable and regular XL both use a different

Yes, it’s possible to make an XL 80 linkable. The linkable and Standard XL use different housings, so you can do it two ways. Purchase regular XLs, and we can sell you the Links. If you wish to use the Moto housing, which is how a regular linkable comes with, then you would need to send the lights in and get them swapped to our Moto housings and also purchase the links.

So if I go the standard XL80s what would the cost be for the links and the mounting bracket for the front bumper?

As a follow up what's the difference between the moto housings and the standard is it just appearance?

@Baja Designs I'm in need of new fog lights for my '22 (yellow/ white pros maybe), are you all looking for any candidates to give a Christmas gift to? Worth a shot to ask 😜

Yes, that is correct. Moto housing is slimmer compared to the standard XL being slightly longer.
