Does anyone have pics of a properly installed winch? I'd like to show my dealer what it looks like as they did a horrible job. There are now gaps and mismatch on the plastic pieces, scratches in multiple places, trim clips driven in at 45 degree angle vs. perpendicular to the hole, and wire attach points not re-installed. This was after I told the gal at the service desk that I was a bit concerned about the install having heard horror stories and I was told "Don't worry we only use Ford certified technician's. The bad installs are from people that buy the winches through us then have someone install". I shrugged it off from there. The pics don't do justice to how bad it looks. Any properly installed pics would be much appreciated as I want to show my dealer the expectation.

That looks like ass. Wonder if they put one of their oil change monkeys on the job. I'd go there and demand a refund for labor + the replacement trim pieces they fucked up.

I’m happy with my winch install from the dealer. Not a super close-up shot, but should be able to zoom in.

My dealer did a fairly decent job with the install. The only issue I had is that they wouldn’t reinstall the center trim piece, but it was easy enough to do myself with some minor trimming. The first photo is how I received it from the dealer. Second is once I installed the center trim. They all pop on and off easily if you decide to just replace them all and start over.

Those trim pieces. Pull from the inboard side and they will break free. I thought for sure I was going to break something but that is how it is done. I would prefer a few screws 🍻

Shat dealership was it?
Ford of Kirkland in Washington state.

Pro-tip: you can edit posts! Unless you want to have shat on the dealership. :p If you're on a large enough screen the edit button will be directly visible in the bottom-left of your posts. If on a smaller screen (i.e. phone), hit the "..." in the bottom-left and choose "Edit". :)

Awesome thank you!

Cleanest install I have seen with the lower trim piece retained. The pavers in the driveway threw my eyes for a loop with the truck being grey and the top of the bumper contours. LOL!

I thought the labor cost was included in the price of the winch?

besides the decal upside down
all plastic is there and it fits nice

there is a small wear indent under the free spool lever in the black plastic.
