Thinking about buying the portable version and using it in the Tremor and two other off-road vehicles instead of buying the on-board version 3 times.

Anyone have it?

@VBTrem - I have a portable ARB unit. Comes in a tackle box, connects to the battery with two clamps. I like it. Easy to use, strong, good for truck tires and bike tires. I don't think mine is a twin, though.

It’s the Rolls Royce for sure. I got the portable because, well, it’s portable! If I go with my buddy in his Rubicon I bring my ARB. Waaaay cheaper to buy an ARB than a fully pimped out Rubicon!

(I only play an idiot on fordtremor.com)

Anyone “hard wire” the portable twin ARB compressor to an upfitter switch? I am thinking this would be sweet to have a removable plug wired to the upfitters in to the bed of the truck for the portable compressor. Then still be able to take it out and plug the alligator clips back in to use it in another vehicle. What do y’all think ????

No reason you can’t. Do note the twin motor model pulls 26 amps. So I think that limits you to switches 5/6. But do double check the upfitter docs.

I’m guessing the ARB single motor kit/Ford Perfomance kit won’t fit in the storage box under the rear seat?

With that much draw, would it be necessary to keep the motor running while using the unit?

What motor do you have?
If gas, dual battery?

For me it would depend on how long I was running it. Just topping off a few PSI? Probably fine on battery. Airing back up after dumping 20psi from each corner? Run the motor.

I have a dual in my jeep and it's just good practice to air all the tires up with the jeep running. I do use it without the jeep running but not for extended times.

The jeep has a single AGM battery.

Diesel

Just got the ARB Twin and read the manual. It draws 28 amps and states leaving the vehicle idling is the way to use it.

Why did you guys pick the Twin over just the High Output?

I got it. Glad I got it over the onboard version bc easy to transfer across vehicles. Very easy to use.

Only thing I wish it had was an adapter to hook up to AC outlet rather than only being able to use vehicle battery.

I think the HO will work for my needs. I like the tank on the Twin but it is really overkill for me and just a toy at that point.
