I have an iPhone 12 with iOS 15.0.1. Truck is a ‘22 so I think sync 4

I’m trying to connect CarPlay and following instructions on YouTube videos but it won’t connect wirelessly. It will connect to Bluetooth but no CarPlay.

Any ideas what is going wrong on my end or settings I need to change?

I don't have a similar problem as I am using an adapter that can convert my Carplay to wireless. It is very convenient to use.I post the link for someone who may need it.

(U2W Plus) Carlinkit 3.0 Wireless Apple CarPlay Adapter Dongle for Wired CarPlay

I thought it was Siri but I think wireless CarPlay uses WiFi some how. Never looked into it and don’t care. But my home WiFi connects to my phone and don’t allow me to use CarPlay in my driveway. As soon as I’m about 200ft down the road and phone finally let’s go of the WiFi, CarPlay turns on. Wired I know will fix that but too much of a hassle

Just to confirm, correct: wireless CarPlay uses an local, adhoc wifi network created by the vehicle. I believe it uses Bluetooth to initially communicate with the vehicle and know what the wifi network is.

My experience with my truck has been that the phone will prioritize CarPlay wifi over my house wifi, though. So it connects fairly quickly, fully automatically and despite me being connected to my home wifi when I started the truck.

Don’t know why your phone wouldn’t be doing that?
