Still building a list of parts for my rig for when the '22 comes. I was thinking I could order new tires and have the dealer put them on Day 1 when the truck is delivered. I'll bring them with me in the bed of the F150 is what I was thinking, and put the new Duratrac take-offs in the bed and have my friend drive the F150 back.

Looking at Nitto Ridge Grappler 37x12.50, and Toyo Open Country AT 3 37x12.50. Both tires are allowed to fit on the stock Tremor rim according to their charts.

The Nitto doesn't have a mileage warranty whereas Toyo has a 50K mile warranty.

So, should I go with the Toyo in that case? Toyo also is only 71 lbs., whereas Nitto weighs 83 lbs.

Thank you :)

Most anecdotes I’ve read here seem to be in favor of Nitto from a performance perspective.

However, I don’t know that enough weight is being given to how much better looking the Toyo’s are compared to the Nitto’s. ?

Toyo also weighs 12 lbs. less per tire :)

I’m a Toyo MT fan, but my wife runs the Nitto Ridge Grapplers on her Gen 1 Raptor and loves them. Really dont think you can go wrong either way

Looks like the Toyos are better in the rain. Whenever it does rain in TX, it pours.. (this year especially). Definitely want the best all around tire. Don't do much mudding. I try to stay away from the clay soil side of I-35 lol.

Both have great reviews here. I am in the Nitto RG camp. I like mine I went with a more aggressive wheel offset and just a bit wider rim. ( 35 x 12.50s ) There were just a touch smaller in diameter than the stock Duratracs.
My tire and rim retailer told me, both the Nitto and Toyo are made in the same factory. I have not confirmed that, would be interesting to know.

Any reason a dealer wouldn't want to install the 37s on the OEM Tremor rim, even though Toyo says 8" is ok and falls in their recommended rim width range?

I will deal with trimming/etc. after the truck is home. Don't plan on turning lock to lock often.

If you are looking at the Ridge Grappler, don't forget the Toyo RT. I have the RT on my Tremor and Ridge Grapplers on the wife's Denali. Both have been great tires!!

You may also want to consider the new Nitto Recon Grappler as it's more inline with the Toyo AT3 vs the Ridge Grappler. Currently they only have a 37x13.50R20 which is too wide for the OEM wheel width, however, 37x12.50R20 is coming.

The weight of the 37x13.50R20 is 79lbs. I'd expect the 37x12.50R20 to be closer inline to the weight of the AT3 you mentioned. The Recon Grappler also has a 55k mile warranty.

Do not like the Recon grappler honestly. Any good tire should also have a mileage warranty IMO; if I went with Nitto, it would be Ridge grappler, which doesn't have a mileage warranty.

The mileage warranty on Michelin has saved my bacon before.

When you are looking at tires on stock wheels without spacers there are a couple things to look at. As you go taller you run into just as many issues as you do when you go wider.

Yes you may not be turning all the way "often" but you will do it occasionally and hit something. And more importantly if you turn while going over something that articulates the suspension your turning radius will usually get dramatically less.

The only way to test for proper clearance is to have the wheel full turned and lift one front tire off the ground and only stop right before one of the other 3 leaves the ground. Do this in both directions we the both front tires. You should have a 1 inch clearance around the tire minimum. We used to us a forklift to make it quicker.

I don't think I will do 37 on stock wheels with no changes. Most I might do is a 35*12.5

Looks like I found a thread where a guy put the same tires I want on a stock Tremor with stock rims. Only mentioned slight radius arm rubbing (y)

He doesn’t seem to mention testing rubbing under articulation though. It’s all fun and games until you bottom out during a hard turn…

Maybe it's only a pavement queen for him? Considering that the spare carrier under bed can only fit a 35", I may just get 35 Toyos instead.
