When I am driving there is always an annoying noise coming from the little phone compartment beneath the ac controls in the lariats. The compartment that slides open and close that is made of plastic with a wood grain finish. Its that sound that is made when pressing or bending plastic a little. Light crackling sound or something. When I press up from underneath on the sliding part while driving the sound stops. Its not real loud or anything just damn annoying. Anyone else hear this. Is there a remedy?

I had the same thing only with the right A pillar. Turned out to be the weather strip around the door frame was touching the triangular shaped black plastic piece on the door touching. Was able to push the weather strip further onto the door frame and without making contact the noise stopped.

I'm guessing you have the same type of thing where two pieces are touching at the sliding door on the console compartment that if adjusted in some way would solve the problem.

I don't have that one. But I've got a bad rattle coming from behind the nav screen, and my driver side window weather stripping makes the most annoying sound akin to a rattle but that no word can well describe.

Fortunately I can ride with the windows down around here most days. ?

My drivers side window sounds like it’s cracked sometimes with that wind noise where you think it’s rolled all the way up but it was just a touch down. I find myself trying to ‘seat the window up’ frequently. Only really happens at highway speeds. I don’t know where to start with that.

Does yours have the plastic protectors installed between pieces of trim that others have spoke about? I think it looks like that blue plastic wrap that protects things from scratching for packaging. I almost tried peeling mine off thinking it was that because you can see it where console meets dash - thankfully
I read that here and left it alone.

On the topic of the weatherstripping: I had this "rattley souund" near the front of my passenger door. It was there when I picked it up and it drove me crazy for a week...until it just disappeared. I thought the rattle was coming from the dash and was concerned. A fried rode in the truck and said it seemed to be coming from the door window. I guess he was right!

I was happy when my rattley noise went away...

When I would touch the door armrest in my old Expedition, it made a creaking noise. A small squirt of this stuff worked for the remaining two years I owned it.
