Hello all,

I decided to go with chrome bumpers instead of going with the sport appearance package. I'm typically not a huge fan of chrome bumpers but after seeing a carbonized grey Tremor at my local dealer I really liked the contrast between the bumpers and body paint. I am 52 by the way. It seems that most people here have opted for the sport appearance package. I think the trucks look great either way. What do you guys think?

Take care.

Since you asked, yes, you are a geezer.

Welcome to the chrome club.

I am not to much older than you,but I prefer the chrome bumpers and grill . The black grill and painted bumpers look to me like a work truck or what Ford used call the XL optioned trucks ,,maybe I am getting old LOL , You have to give Ford guys credit for making the black out package more expensive and the chrome standard when it used to be the other way around.

You might be a geezer, but it's a helluva lot easier to clean bug guts from a chrome surface without scratching it than it is to remove them from a painted surface.

My truck came with painted bumpers and I check Craigslist every few days for some chrome take-offs.

totally agree with that !

I am waiting on a white lariat with chrome, I think it looks great and is a timeless look.
Blacked out might not be all the rage and I try to keep my trucks as long as possible. I would actually consider chrome or machined wheels on the truck, I am not a real big fan of blacked out wheels anymore. I am 40 if that makes you feel better.

I opted for chrome bumpers on my Tremor. My last truck was an F150 with painted bumpers and the front one got chipped, so I had it repainted after 3 years. Then I went through one winter and the new paint was already chipped from rocks. So even though I prefer painted, I opted for chrome on the Tremor. And I'm not an old geezer at only 58 years old!

I'm 56, so call me geezer, old man, whatever, but dont call me late for dinner. Your $$$, Your truck, Have it Your way, thats the American way!

Post up some Pics of your ride, I have a Carbon Grey, Black package, but I dont think I have seen one with the Chrome.

Nope. You’re just practical!

I’m a fair bit younger than most of you and also opted for chrome bumpers/grill.

I felt that the black package looks great on a black truck but looked toyish with most other options  –  particularly when contrasting them in person.

But more so, the chrome is objectively more durable than paint.

Although I may not physically be a geezer, I'm definitely a geezer at heart since I love chrome with the design of our trucks. And yes, I got mine with chrome. I wouldn't have it any other way.

If this is a geezer truck, then I'm a proud geezer! Oh, and it's one BA truck!

You do you...I just don't like chrome, in my mid 40s...I got a limited expy 10 yrs ago because the grill is painted to match not chrome. Painted bumpers and grill have held up fine to rocks and what not over the years. I bumped down to Lariat package from a Platinum b/c chrome grill was the only option on a Platinum. I rebuildt my Jeep YJ with zero chrome. Chrome belongs on Harleys and 1950s-60s vehicles and that's about it in my book. Even some of the late 60s models look better without it.

Trucks these days with all the bling up front remind me of rappers back in the day with the gold grill. The GMC Serria Denali is the worst.

Here's an old pic of my current fleet that I took when I first got the truck. I guess I've had an affinity for chrome trim for most of my driving career. Although it's unfortunate that the Focus has chrome paint and not actual chrome, it is the trim level with the maximum amount of "chrome."
