So I'm wanting to install some air horns and I want to put it on a momentary switch. But I'm just not sure were to install it. I was thinking about installing it on the trim piece on the drivers side a pillar. Anyone know if there is anything behind it?

Just Installed a $40 Chinese air horn (gampro). I didn't want to have it substitute for my main horn, because so many little (annoying) alerts use that horn, and it would be WAY MORE annoying then. It was really easy to wire up and I activate it with upfitter #3. It has a standard 4 pin relay SPST. I installed the compressor to the auxiliary battery bracket on the Driver's side behind the washer fluid reservoir, zip tied the horn to the grounding strap and some other large cable (because I didn't want to drill my sheet metal for something that may last only a month or so.) This bad boy is LOUD, and I hope it lasts a while. The horn declines downward so it will drain moisture and where I mounted it seems protected. I sealed the relay connections with heat shrink (solder type for the positive and upfitter #@3) IMG_4708.jpegIMG_4709.jpegIMG_4710.jpegIMG_4711.jpegIMG_4712.jpeg

I haven’t had the drivers side off, but there is some wiring behind the passenger side one along with an airbag. So stay clear of that. I’m also not sure how the bags deploy. It might turn your switch into something really nasty should the airbag go off.

I wired mine into the upfitter switches, #6 so that it’s off in its own and easy to hit if I need it but not likely to hit it by mistake. If you’ve got the upfitter switches I’d just use them.
