Does anyone know the function of these plugs on the drivers side frame rail next to the spare tire

following

in-bed 7-way plug.

The end of the 5th wheel prep package. For the outlet in the bed.

Are those the ones that need to be replaced when they get water in them that causes the tailgate open?

Ok let’s try again..... specifically what is each plug for functionally. If you don’t know, then no reply needed. Hedge and Dissident thank you for your peplies.

Dissident replied with the correct answer. You can buy the plug and harness separately to hook up if you want to.

I understand, but being that there are 5 individual plugs I’m sure they have their own independent functions that could be utilized other than in the 7 pin 5th wheel plug.

After watching a video on adding an OEM in bed 7 pin 5th wheel plug, I don’t believe that these are for that as the OEM plug is basically an in line tee off of the bumper plug.

These are from a 2015 but they look exactly the same.

The others are for the tailgate if you have a higher end trim truck, there's also another smaller brown one for the camera for a total of 4 plugs for the tailgate. On my KR with 5th wheel prep all the plugs are in use.

Not sure what video you watched for the 7-way but if it used a splitter of the other 7-way then it was not OEM

PS: that's not the frame rail it's the side plate of the receiver hitch.

yeah, tailgate removal is a pain and I do it often because I have a truck camper. The 2017 originally had two plugs, 1 for the tailgate and 1 for the camera. They had problems with some of the connectors getting water in them so they did a recall which split some of the wires out and you ended up with two more harnesses.

I was dissapointed to see on my 2020 they just carried over the recall fix, I would have thougth they would have redesigned the connector and went back to 1 plug.
