Picking up a Banks iDash and looking to see what you all have installed or recommend for an A pillar replacement that has provisions for mounting gauges.

I haven’t been able to find anything good in all my searches. I stumbled on this though, and will probably go this route

saw it in one of the sales videos on the Banks website and was able to find this. Not sure if there’s someone else out there doing this as well

His facebook page for his business is riddled with over two years of people constantly complaining about how they are not getting their orders and that he doesn't respond to messages or emails.

I know. I messaged him recently and haven’t heard anything so far. Really sucks, since this solution looks really great.

Same concept. I wonder who started it. But this seems much faster and less hassle then the guy who doesn’t answer. Wonder how hard it is to get the right paint color

I ordered one. We'll see how it goes. Any paint guy should be able to match it.

@Cropgun - did your stuff arrive yet?

It did, but I am a dumbass and ordered the wrong thing without the holes for the mirror spot light switches. So I had to send back and he is making me one with the right part. I did take it out of the box and test fit the iDash, it fits pretty good, but the mounting screws will not reach the back of gauge pod. He suggested wrapping the idash in electrical tape to hold it in place. Should work fairly well.

I also ordered this:

Had it in two days, haven't tried it out yet. Haven't had time to mess with the truck lately.

Was the finish of quality? I saw the vent one, but I don’t like that. I love the one you ordered, so I’m hoping it is a good quality.

it felt like a solid piece of kit. Its black and the finish is rougher so its going to have to go to a paint shop to be color matched and sanded to look OEM. It will look really out of place if you just spray paint it a "close enough" color of sliver.

Thanks for that. I have the gauge ordered, so figured I’ll need to order this soon. You bought the OEM replacement style one correct? Not the slip over cover one?

Correct, the OEM replacement. Banks finally has an A-pillar mount available, but it is conveniently a two gauge solution so you have to buy more than one gauge. Its about $100 I think.

Banks has had 2 & 3 pod A pillar mounts for over 20 years for fords, they are way more popular & sell way better than a single pod unit

But the ones specific for our newer trucks just came out. Personally, I’d much rather have the single or dual pod on the vent cover. I think it looks way better.

@Cropgun - I ended up buying from the Facebook guy. Arrived in 6 weeks. Quality build. He said he painted it, which he did, but the silver isn’t even close to matching my truck, and the platinum had the “brushed” finish look. Wondering if you ever had yours painted, and, if so, did they tell you a color name? When I look up the replacement part on Fords site, it lists it as “platinum brushed”. I’m gonna go see if I can find a platinum color spray paint and try to match it

Not sure for a Plat. It looks like for Lariats Krylon Specialty Stainless Steel finish (2400) is a good match. I also ordered from him, but still waiting.

I’ll check that out. Thanks!
