I will never forgot that day. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ I owned a small town computer store at the time and one of our frequent customers (Al Marchand) was a flight attendant on the second plane that hit the twin towers. He was a retired police officer. ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚

I have so much respect for the all the first responders that acted so quickly that day.
Thoughts and prayers go out to all the families that were impacted by those events.

My son was born 9/11/2011 so it's also a day of celebration in our house. I always remind him what a special day this is.

I watched the second plane hit the tower. We watched them come down on top of a building we were erecting 5 miles away, across the river in Maspeth Queens. We all cried when the towers came down.
The next 2 days we were there cutting twisted steel out of the mess that was left. We helped with the bucket line just passing buckets 200 people long.
I saw the flattened fire trucks, ambulances, PD cars and trucks, and smelt the burnt flesh. I was an apprentice Union Ironworker just starting a new career.
This changed my whole life. The saddest days of my life and the proudest days of my life seeing everyone come together and risk their own safety to help out anyway they can.
This is a painful anniversary. The date 9/11 will always be a somber day. Letโ€™s all keep those who were lost and those so deeply affected in our prayers and at Sundayโ€™s Mass.
May GOD Bless all those affected by that sad day.
May GOD Bless all who joined the military and wanted to fight the EVIL OF THIS WORLD
May GOD Bless all those who lost their lives from the chain of events from that day
MAY GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR NATION THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Hard to believe its been 20 yearsโ€ฆ.. I was at Fort Irwin, California, a young Captain, there training other units On how to fight. We all knew that that day would change America forever. We all knew that most of us would deploy and fight those that brought this to our shores. We all knew that when our time came, we would gladly go and do our duty to the best of our ability. We all knew that the cowards had already claimed over 3000 American lives, and we had some ground to make up. We didnt know who wouldnt come back. I wear a band on my arm of a great warrior, friend, husband and father, that stood next to me that day, that didnt come back, he is with me every day. I Will never forget. And, contrary to the state of this society today, and all the divisionsโ€ฆโ€ฆthat day, we were all Americans, and we shouldnt EVER forget, nor those willing to do us harm, the power of this nation, when it stands united.

Iโ€™ll never forget it! After I found out what was going on and that my family was safe, I went to my grandfatherโ€™s house (he raised me), who was a Marine in WWII and Korea and a plumbing contractor for 40 years and spent the afternoon with him watching the news and listening to his war stories and what it meant to him to be a proud veteran and US Citizen.

He lost friends in Pearl and on the battlefields and wished he could take action against the terrorists himself that day that caused so much grief for our proud nation. He had me put up his US flag and we kept it up in honor of the victims and respect for the very brave first responders of that horrible day.
He never forgot. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

He would be ashamed of the people that have either forgotten or choose to forget 9-11 or act any different other than disgust for the pathetic, cowardess acts of the terrorists that killed so many people that day. RIP Papa...๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

I was in NY at the time. Iโ€™d like nothing more than to forget. But who could? Weโ€™ve been tearing our country apart over it every day since.

I wish I could remember all of the freedom and common ground we had before that day.

Good point Soop, certainly we always focus on the tragic loss of life on that day, but we lost so many freedoms as well, our way of life. So much of the new generation does not and will not ever know how much was taken, and lost forever, very sad.

Utmost Respect!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

I was running across post(Ft Bragg, NC) to pick up supplies for the warehouse from the unit. I walked back into the warehouse to everyone standing in a circle around the radio crying! Took a minute for anyone to tell me what had happened. That day Ft Bragg went on lock down. We found ourselves(1st COSCOM) with the 82nd in Ft Irwin doing desert training in Oct-Nov. I ETS'd(last to get out of our battalion) days before my unit deployed. 2 of my soldiers didn't come back.

NEVER FORGET! God Bless all the American Citizens, First Responder's, and Military that had their lives impacted that day. Honor them Every Day! Thank the Allies who participated on the Mission Our Country undertook. Pray for the Families and Our Country.

Unity like when congress united to sing God Bless America. Democrat's and Republicans it didn't matter

I was the on duty Flight Sgt in the 400th Missile Squadron directly responsible for the security of 50 Peacekeeper ICBMโ€™s

We had a 13 inch B&W TV we were able to get glimpses of things between all that was going on & ended up in Threatcon Delta, was up for over 40 hours & was a very interesting week till I finally made it home and learned what the rest of the world knew

"Have You Forgotten?"

I hear people saying we don't need this war
But, I say there's some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground
We didn't get to keep 'em by backing down
They say we don't realize the mess we're getting in
Before you start your preaching let me ask you this my friend

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

They took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it's too disturbing for you and me
It'll just breed anger that's what the experts say
If it was up to me I'd show it everyday
Some say this country's just out looking for a fight
Well, after 9/11 man I'd have to say that's right

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside going through a living hell
And we vowed to get the oneโ€™s behind Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

I've been there with the soldiers
Who've gone away to war
And you can bet that they remember
Just what they're fighting for

Have you forgotten all the people killed?
Yeah, some went down like heroes in that Pennsylvania field
Have you forgotten about our Pentagon?
All the loved ones that we lost and those left to carry on
Don't you tell me not to worry about Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?
