I've been adding/deleting and changing for the last 18 months and now I'm pretty close to having everything where I want it. Thought I'd put all the ideas and pics in one place.

I am not opposed to spending money for upgrades/mods, but sometimes "versatile and inexpensive" is a good option.

DIY Comms Unit mount

I needed more room up front, so I added a 3/4 emt pipe with rubber caps to the Built Right F350 dash mount using some copper pipe fittings. Then I painted everything with black bedliner paint.

I ran 12v power and a USB C & Micro cables to the dash to power all devices.

Using trackform connectors I can now mount the phone, the GMRS radio, gopro, radar detector and Samsung 7+ tablet.

Total cost for the bar under $25.

And now I have more flexibility when arranging my devices...

Way better than that $100 CF mount that simply holds a phone. Well done and thanks for sharing. If my new truck has a builtright or similar cubby mount, I'll be stealing this idea.

Love the gopro location. I was going to mount it on the Built Right mount but felt it was too low and far back. How much hood gets in the view here? Do you have a view or picture of the view?

Like all of us I carry a lot of gear, for both work and play.

But, I need access to the 4x8 area of my bed for drywall, plywood, camping equipment, etc.

So, i have always used side mounts in all of my trucks (probably should have marketed them 15 years ago).

Mine are heavy duty, double gauge wire panels, sprayed with bedliner. They are attached at various points throughout the bed and cover the length of both sides and the front.

They hold all equipment off the floor and give me complete access to the bed of the truck.

This system has served me well for many years.

Inside the cab, I have Gray Man Tactical Molle panels installed on the backs of my front seats and under the driver's seat to carry additional gear. I’m able to change out the gear quickly depending on what I’m doing. I use a vinyl covers to hide the gear from site. I also added grab handles to the headrest. These are also handy for attaching other gear, hats, coats or bags.

The storage tray under the back seat contains additional gear and my 2000w Power Inverter that has a remote off/on switch to the driver's seat area.

Lastly, I use a Ridgid 22" Black crate centered behind the front seats to catch all of my daily gear. It's the perfect size that allows quite a bit of storage, while not interfering with back seat passages.

For lighting, I added a 42" 240w curved light bar to the front bumber (NiLight)

and ditch lights on hood brackets (NiLight)

and wired them to uplifter switches 1&2.

I also added MustWin RGB LED lights to the rack and the under carriage. These are great for illuminating the truck bed and they are the perfect dimmable lighting solution for non-intrusive overlanding/camping lights.

I wired them to switches 5&6 so I could have constant power and then control them with the included remotes when we're in camp.

I still need to add reverse lights soon and I'm leaning towards this application:

I have a Camp Chef Everest 2 Burner Stove, a Little Buddy Heater and an Outland Living Propane Fire Pit that all use propane. So obviously propane and carrying it are important.

As always there are several options on the market, but they tend to be expensive and/or cumbersome, so I chose a 5lb bottle and for mounting I went the DIY route.

I use a garage tool mount hook from Home Depot (7.00), a ratchet strap (4.00), a velco strap (5.00) and a long shank master lock (14.00). It's been attached to the bed rack through the E-channel for about 12 months with no problems.

I have both a 6' & 15' hose for connections so that I can connect the bottle to my stove when cooking on the tailgate or to the fire pit when sitting near the truck.

I struggled for a while on the integrated winch, but finally decided that it was too many $$$'s.

The front hitch really gives me broader utility when deciding what I need to bring on any given trip.

Yes! I was just reading up on the ecohitch. Looks like it tucks up behind the bumper nicely without protruding down. I am adding that to my list of things to do for next year.
