7 weeks since ordering and no VIN!

Dealer says they have “allocation” and that it’s just Ford having issues/covid delays. I ordered a Lariat Tremor F-350 with the sport/blackout and value package on 11/17/20 and dealer submitted the order 11/19. I have the a picture of the order sheet and that’s it. I’m getting super frustrated that it’s taking this long to get a VIN and wondered if Ford is having issues which would validate the delay. It seems like most people got their VIN much sooner. The dealer has been good to work with this far but I’m having a hard time understanding the delay.

I just got my vin yesterday and my dealer ordered mine 11/27. I'm not sure if that helps but at least you know some people had to wait.

My order was placed the Nov 23, no vin for me either. My last email was to the dealer today, told him they have a week to get me a build date or I’m canceling my order and taking my deposit back.

I have thought about trying to order through another dealer. Any idea if putting that pressure on them can get a result? I didn’t have to put down a deposit but still am pissed this is taking so long.

12 days from the time you ordered for the dealer to enter the order??? Wow, I'd look for different dealer or demand they bump up your priority and see what response you get. My order was entered the same day along with another guy that ordered a Tremor later in the day... he already has his window sticker, I'm still waiting on mine and my order number is one number less than his... I guess my optioned-up XLT doesn't rank as high as his Platinum... LOL!
Edit: 1/12/21: I see you changed your 11/29 date to 11/19 ... much better! So I'll retract my comment above. 2 days is "reasonable", same day is better.

My order was placed 11/18. 6.7L Star White KR. Crickets from Ford. The dealer swears they had allocation. The dealer's sales manager is supposedly trying to get in touch with the Ford "Zone Manager" to see what the holdup is...

Ordered Mine 11-18-20 just got the build date they say 1-18-21, and another 4 weeks after will get delivered. Tremor Antimatter blue 7.3 cant wait my 2002 F150 210k miles is done. Looks good but done.

I placed my order 11-30-20 with the fleet manager at my dealer and he sent the order when I was in his office. I was told up front 3-4 months for delivery. My order status is "in process" but I do not have a VIN yet either. The plants were shut down for a couple weeks over the holidays too.

Wow sorry to hear that guys. back in the day ( 2020) we got our VIN #s the Thursday after the order was places. I had a 15 priority code and my Truck came in like clockwork in 8 weeks.

In my case:
Ordered 11/6/20
Got my VIN 11/20/20
Scheduled 1/6/21
Built 1/11/21
Shipped with an estimated delivery date of 1/29/21 - not sure how accurate the ETA is as it keeps changing for the better.

Originally was 2/4, then 1/31, and today pulled up to 1/29. Didn't have a special priority code either and this is at the smaller Ford dealer in town.

I’ve been on him since week 5 for the Vin and last night I emailed him and said that I want a build date by Friday or I’m coming to get my deposit back, probably fly to the great state of Texas and drive one home. Sucks going to the dump with your BMW 3 series, not to mention I can’t tow anything.
