They must have been hard on it. This is what I saw recently posted on facebook from a guy who just bought a XLT Tremor with the 7.3:

"11.5 for the first tank, 70% in town and a fair share of idling. I might be able to manage high 13s on an extended highway trip now, not broken in. Temps are in 20s and 30s."

That’s pretty much exactly where mine sits. 1300 miles on the truck. Lifetime shows 12.7 that’s with some pretty aggressive test drives. Took a trip to my daughters in Detroit from NW Indiana and was at 13.8 when I got home. About 600 miles including downtown traffic and 70+ expressway. Cold and windy weather. Was hoping more like 15-16 but hey it’s a big truck. I’m sure some highway speeds of 55-60 can reach 15

That’s still not bad, my only adventure with a bowtie was an 04 2500HD with a 6.0l and 4.10 and that pig never broke 10 mph. My 08 F350 SD 6.4l averaged near 12 when it wasn’t on a rollback. Now my 12 Raptor got close to 14 mpg a couple of times but who cares, it was a Raptor. I’m currently getting high 17’s with my 18 ecoboost Raptor but will be glad to drop back down for that big V8 rumble(without piped in sound please).
BTW, My daily driver is a company owned Explorer with a gas card.

I’m fortunate that my wife and myself both work less than 1 mile from work. We share the nice vehicle(now the tremor) and an old Chevy pickup I couldn’t sell. We don’t normally worry about mileage. It never hurts tho. We do a lot of traveling when we are off. Managed to put 80k miles on our f150 know under 4 years. That’s where we will miss the 3.5 eco is the unloaded miles.

First day. Drove 37 miles. Averaged 11.8 mpg. Mostly around town. No rubber.

16.6 average MPG running 70-75 mph 7.3L with 3.73 gears. (F350 Super Duty - NON TREMOR)

I thought the only axle ratio on the 7.3 was the 4.30

For the 7.3 tremor, only 4:30.

Sorry guys, just updated the post. It was a 7.3l motor with 3.73s but his did not have the Tremor package.

I have a 2013 Ecoboost F150 rarely get 15 tow a snowmobile trailer 9 will be towing a camper and it will probably be down to 5. The 7.3 and tremor is way more truck and motor and it does as good or better than my eco. I want one.

I average 12 mpg driving around the congested Washington DC area. On a trip to New Jersey I got to check some highway miles and actually hit 15.5 mpg for a good bit of the trip at 75 mph.

With just under 150 miles in one week I'm seeing a 10.1 MPG with a combination of highway and city driving. I hope it gets better after the break in period.

I have 250-300 miles on mine, two lane driving. Empty getting a few things, 14 mpg. I’m usually pretty light footed, but had to get after it a couple times to feel the power and hear the roar!
I love this thing over my 6.7’s.

I only have 320 miles on her so far. Promised myself I wouldn't look at mpg data until 1000 or more. Upside to this whole coronavirus scenario is that gasoline prices have dropped.

7.3 4:30's 35x12.5x18

2200 miles, my lifetime average is 11.6. Average mph over that distance is 31 mph so I am doing a lot of city driving.

Expect 13.8-14.2 hwy and 11.5 city.

I towed 8k yesterday for 193 miles. Reset it when I pulled out of the driveway and was on the highway within 5 miles. 8.9mpg with the cruise set on 70.

I have run two tanks of fuel through my 7.3 Tremor and am getting 14 mpg in mixed driving (not towing). That's in eco-mode with an occasional lead foot moment!

Now have 3800 miles on 7.3 seeing 15-17 hwy 13-15 slow speed driving mpg empty. Just did 600 mile trip pulling trailer and bed full with camper shell total wt around 8k experienced 10-11.7 mpg through some mountainous Colo to Idaho averaging 65-80 mph. Pulls great, it's a keeper, also running 91 octane.

Just got home 140 miles mix of stop and go highway 14.4, was at 16 mpg for 30 miles country highway 60 mph. Very curious to see how it does with the trailer hooked up.

300 miles of towing 8k (enclosed v-nose trailer) up and down a couple 4-6% grades at 70-75 mph, cruise control. 8 mpg average, good thing I found gas for $1.35/gallon. Distance to empty at 219 miles after a fill-up.
