2022 Built Right Dash Mount

Does anyone know if the Built Right Industries dash mount for 2017+ would fit in the 2022? I assume it would fit length and width but worried that the new 12" screen would make the mount very low. Has anyone tried it or know how much higher the center dash is for 2022 vs 2021?

I have not attempted to put mine on yet. But it does look like it works. I just dropped it in and seemed to fit. I had mine from the old truck. My last truck was an XLT, the install was a little different with no B&O speaker. Im guessing it’s a similar install but not 100%.

The main thing to mount would be the back up camera on the trail trailer. I wanna get the Ford trailer camera but don't like the idea of hard wiring a new camera when I already have a wireless one installed. But phone or anything else as well.

I'm waiting till I get my truck and try it out before i do anything. I was thinking spacers as well or get a second short arm to allow it to go higher and further out as well.

Anybody get this mounted in a 2022 with the 12” screen? I’ve got all the parts here, but don’t want to start yanking and prying if it doesn’t disassemble like the 8” dash in their install video.

@Bluezilla disassembled for the screen protector which includes this center tray so it should be all the same. Not sure if the following will post over correctly.

Anybody get this mounted in a 2022 with the 12” screen? I’ve got all the parts here, but don’t want to start yanking and prying if it doesn’t disassemble like the 8” dash in their install video.

I'm also planning on installing mine in the next day or two (hopefully) and can let you know how it goes.

Super easy. Few instructions and pictures below.

1. Pop of the speaker cover. No screws just pry/pull up.

2. Remove two 7mm screws.

3. Lift up and slightly toward the windshield to reveal speaker harness and unplug.

4. Remove (I saved for later to cover holes if I remove mount) rubber tray and mark and drill holes in cover. NOTE: instructions include a template. I marked the easy two with the mount to ensure it was lined up and then used template for remaining two holes.

5. Place the two bolts in the mount before placing it in the tray. My fat fingers couldn't get them in after the first time around. NOTE: I installed the ball to my mount now but that later made it difficult to each the screw below to tighten and this can be added after the fact.

6. Install and tighten all four bolts and nuts.

7. Reverse the removal steps to install it back in truck. NOTE: remember to reinstall speaker plug (no I didn't forget but could see it happening)

Here it is with no arm and just the mount and ball. Can hardly see it from my seat position. Tried to take the photo from my POV.

And then with arm attached and backup camera display attached (main and possibly only reason I use this) Phone sat up very high or in front of screen too much for me. Either longer arm or possibly second arm might help with this if people want to use for phone.

While performing this surgery, I did some explororitor surgery to add a usb/cigarette lighter socket up here in the future.

Will do. And very wise keep us posted on the usb/cigarette lighter socket. I have the bench seat and have wanted to do that for the bench seat for the passengers in the back. Luckily my dogs don’t have iPhones yet. So I’m not in a rush.

Just wanted to update anyone following this thread. I spent some time on the phone with Built Right today trying to get some more information for my build. Speaking with Matt (Customer Service Manager) they are currently working on a revised mount for the 2022 with the 12 inch screen. Apparently it is going to be wider to fill the extra space created by the new tray and will be able to hold more mounts. According to him should be available in the next few months.

Using the pictures in the posts above as reference, it seems to me that they may be angling the upright supports out so they can cover the wider span. They may also be raising it up to be flush with the dash like it has been in past model years.

Yeah, not much extra width at the bottom so they would have to angle the supports out. Higher would work but I actually like the lower mount so it is hidden while not in use.

Buddy riding in my truck the other day actually mentioned that it looked factory installed. Had to show him install pictures to convince him.
