6.7l Block Heater 1st Use

Does it hurt anything to leave the truck plugged in for multiple days?
Hey bud,
when you do need your block heater (granted, likely not often), consider using it in conjunction with an outdoor, 15a, 24hr elec timer. Set the timer to power-on the block heater c.~ 6 hrs before you think you’ll crank it.
(pro tip: then you can use the same outdoor timer to power-on Christmas?lights or the outdoor bug?⚡️ zapper when it’s not being used on your truck ?)

I just picked up the replacement clip. It looks to be the same size as my broken plastic clip. They come out n 4 packs only at $2/ea ($4.50 msrp). I guess that parts guy felt like given me a break due to fedex delays. View attachment 18134View attachment 18135

My 6.7 wouldn't start at 4 degrees F in Texas a week ago until I plugged in block heater. Heater maxs out at 3hr run time per owner manual.
Whoever said you don't need one is wrong.

Possibly the year round summer diesel fuel that Texas uses which would gel at 4 degrees. In midwest, there is summer then winter diesel with ant-gel additives. Big difference. A 6.7 should have no problems starting w/out a block heater in 4 degree weather, with good fuel flow that's not gelled. Regardless, imo, anywhere in the teens to single digits I would plug in

Yep, should keep some anti gel handy even in Texas

The desiel was fine. It was a temp sensor on some part of the motor, oil or coolant or both. The motor would not turn over until the sensor reached the right temp. Fired right up
