Tried posting a congressional bill about removing emissions regulations and it was removed for “political posting”

Hope this one isn’t taken down..

Anyway, there is a bill introduced to completely remove emissions regulations in all states. Will be keeping any eye on it!

Ok, so maybe don’t remove all emissions, just reduce there be so many requirements!
That will never happen and will only keep adding more.

I have argued this topic as well; if the "political" topic is relevant to our rigs, why remove it? We're being directly affected it by it - even if you don't allow the discussion to go on; we're living and breathing it quite literally.

You're looking at the "political" side of it and totally igorning the point that its a topic about our rigs and how it can potentially affect us as owners.

I see it more as in everything that goes on in here; spreading knowledge and informing the community, not arguing about something.

It's not our fault that emissions itself is a total hoax to begin with and simply another revenue generating department.

I'm all for emissions. The day I can't emit is the day life ends 🤪.

That's what happens when you put beans in your chili. 🫘💨

On a totally off topic note unrelated to anything in this thread, does anyone else watch the TK's Garage channel on Youtube? He covers lots of interesting news about the tribulations of Stellantis among other things.

While you are correct that is what happens from the beans in chili it's not like there's an option, you have to put beans in it or it isn't chili.

I am fine with regulations that are based on logic and science taking into account practicality. I have no problem with the SCR, DOC and the DPF whatsoever. I like not breathing in the shit that spews out the other end. But what I cannot handle and would love to punch the persons responsible right in the dick are those that felt putting an EGR on a diesel was wonderful and necessary. There is no reason to use an EGR on an oil burner. NOx is the reason we've been told the EGR is there to reduce. That is total horseshit for many reasons. Get rid of the EGR, the engine lasts longer and performs better. Increase the DEF at the other end, NOx is all but eliminated and then the only thing we have to bitch about is the price of DEF.

couldn’t agree more. The original thought about NOx was it was the reason for the “smog”. We’ve come so far to realize that wasn’t the real reason for concern. It’s just sad how hard it is to remove red tape once in place.

It would never make it through the Senate which requires 60 votes due to the filibuster rule.

Pretty sure they’re already working on gas exhaust fluid.

You’re not wrong there! I believe it’s the Maverick that’s introduced that in the Ford line up.

As for opposition, it would make anyone voting against it vote against UAW jobs/incentives. Not a popular group to vote against

Correct. Mainly because of the document you posted which was clearly one sided and, in my experience, would lead to more of the same.

Keep it civil and not politically accusational and it should be ok.

The forum rules don't allow it. Talking about an potential action/legislation can and has occurred without confounding the discussion with political parties and policy.

For what it's worth the county that I reside in in Washington State said the air has been cleaned up enough and we are no longer required to do any kind of emissions testing.
MO doesn't do emissions testing on anything under 10yrs/150k mi, or over 25yrs.
STL county requires the "test" but the reality is that you're just paying for the official paperwork saying it's exempt until you've passed that 10/150k mark. My dealer confirmed that they don't sniff it or even look, but that other stations might do a visual inspection.
Just another govt money grab like property tax, imo.

It’s supported by both sides of the aisle, the UAW, and American auto makers get tax incentives to build in USA. Only one losing out here is Greta
OP’s 1st post - why would anyone think this is political?

OP’s 2nd post - makes it explicitly political.

Can you just not help yourselves? I mean, I’m not against the discussion at all, but the admin has two choices, either delete the topic and make his Friday a lot easier, or watch every post to catch the misbehavers, and make his Friday difficult. Why do you guys insist on making life hard for the guy who built this place for you?

Ok, Friday rant done.
